Great Music good food. This place is a lot of fun. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and there has been great live music every time I have been there. The only weak spot if there is one is the food. It's good but not great.

Great atmosphere and great drinks!. Great atmosphere and great drinks! They sell cigars that are hand-rolled right in front of you. I would definitely recommend this place. Here's a coupon that I found for a free mojito:

Good place to do business or to have fun. I was invited to an early dinner meeting at Guantanamera, they had reserved a table downtairs for more privacy. The food was great, the price very reasonable. As we were leaving we went by the bar, the band was incredible, my partner and I decided to stay, we ordered some mojitos, excellent. We had so much fun we lost track of time. It was the perfect way to celebrate a fruitfull business deal..

Excellent Place for Good Food, Great Music, Reasonable Price. I live very close to Guantanamera and have been there numerous times. I love this place, but you have to be in the right mood for what it is has to offer. It offers a lot - really good (but not great) cuban food, the service excellent (very fast and attentive in my experience), a really cool ambience with all kinds of people (businessmen, families, locals, all very cool and friendly), and EXCELLENT live cuban music. The music is kind of loud (depending on the specific line-up that night), so it is not a good place for a quiet dinner (although the band does take 15-20 minute breaks every 45 minutes or so). You can request, as we always do, to not sit right by the band, in which case reservations are recommended. But if you looking for a fun, laidback time with some great live music, check this place out.

Best Cuban in Midtown. Love the place. It is great to go there after a long day, the bartenders are awesome i love their Mojitos.

The food very good too. It is hard to pic only one favorite!

Truly to be recommended.

good food, noisy place. If you don't mind eating without talking this is a good place, especially when they have live music (and you may end up being seated right next to the band, as it happened to us!). But the food is in fact worth it, especially the chevize. Less noise in the bar area, and you can sit there while watching the cigar rolling by the door.

NICE MOJITOS BUT........ They've got great mojitos but i'm gonna have to agree with the last review......their manager looks like an action figure (short ) and always has a long face.......you'd figure with the kind of vibe and crowd they have all employees should put on a smile...especially the management!

Rudest Management ever experienced in a restaurant - food very mediocre and over-priced. "food very mediocre and over-priced."

We had reservations for a birthday party. The short guy who acted as

manager, also claimed he was the owner (although this is very doubtful), was extremely rude. Kept us waiting over an hour after our reservation time, and instead of being apologetic was nasty. He insulted the birthday boy who is one of the nicest people in the world.

The manager couldn't possibly be the owner as he lost 20 potential future customers.-------

There are so many excellent cuban and spanish restaurants in NYC, don't waste your time or money on this one.

ID's Please!!!!. The good news is: the food is tasty and exactly what me and a few friends wanted for Saturday night. The bad news is: everything else. Apparently if you're foreign u can?t drink here. I was in the mood to have a drink with my dinner so I ordered my usual at a cuban spot, a MOJITO. I do look young so I had my ID in hand when the waiter came over. He saw my ID and said "THIS IS FAKE, THAT?S NOT YOU." The waiter didn?t even bother asking for additional ID, he was convinced it was fake. I have a foreign ID, which I think that?s the reason he didn?t acknowledge it, but last time I checked that wasn?t something bizarre or unusual, especially in New York City. Like 20 minutes later, after being stared down by the rest of the waiters, he comes back and says ?Let me see your ID again? At this point I felt so discriminated and appalled, I told him to forget it. Obviously this waiter was completely clueless to the fact that New York is very touristic and that many people from different countries live here. Next time, I?ll just stick to places I?ve never had problems drinking at before...like the other 10 million restaurants and bars in NYC.
