Getting worse every day. Possibly the worst bartenders and manager in the city. Rude, unhelpful, disinterested, more interestred in one another, closing early and getting 50% tips for doing... nothing. Clearly they have not worked before. You watch other bartenders in *real* bars work their butts off mixing drinks, juggling 100 custmers at once, handling kitchen and wait staff, dealing with rude drunk loud customers. These girls POUR wine, mostly screw top, in a bar that holds maybe 50 people when packed and still manage to botch the job. It would be one thing if the wine were amazing but it is average AND overpriced. For istance for abut the same price they charge for a glass of their Zin I can get 1/2 bottle of the same at Landmark for the same price whith MUCH nice service and much better ambience.

Mostly though it is the service since the same bar and wine were great a few years back. Not knowing wine is one thing; not caring to know is another; making it clear to the customers you dont know and care as long as they a) dont interupt you or b) leave when you are tired of working is unforgiveable. Maybe the owner will get it one day; right now he seems happy to keep the money cow going. Classic story is he will one day ask how it all went bad so quickly. It didn't; it has been going on for 3+ years he/they just didn't notice or care.

Quaint Place with a Romantic Setting. I stumpled upon Bin 71 last night. The place is very small, offering about 20-30 total seats. The place was quite busy for Wednesday night and the drinks were farily priced. Beers were about 8 and wine -8-12/glass. This place is ideal to take a date for drinks and some finger foods. I didn't try any food, but the music was low enough to carry a great conversation. The only downside is that due to the size, getting two seats at the bar/table was a little difficult, but it's a great place and highly reccommended.

LADIES BEWARE. My first & only time there my pocketbook was stolen. I was sitting at the bar and it was under a coat at my feet. According to some patrons there trying to help me locate it, it's been happening a lot there. The bartender couldn't have cared less and handed me a bill as I was leaving. I reminded her my wallet was in my stolen bag and she just shrugged. Luckily my friend who showed up to help me paid. And just last week a friend called to tell me it happened to the girl he was with so between me, the people that night who said they've been there when others had it happen and my friend last week, you'd think by now they'd install cameras or something but obviously no one there cares.

Rude Female Bartenders. I have been coming to this Bar since it opened years ago. The atmosphere is great, the food good for what they are trying to achieve, and the wine list is chosen wisely. But, the rude service is just unacceptable. The ownder also owns Barcibo close by- the manager is great, but again most of the females this guy employs to bait men are just rude. Rude.

Great pre date place. My girlfriend and I always stop by here for great wine and food before a movie or play.

We have such a wonderful time always. We've been so lucky to have Bin in the neighborhood.

Great place to go for a drink. This a very nice small wine room :)

Pretty crowded, but it has a crowd of relaxing people.

People from neighbourhood get their friends or collegues and go for a drink after work. They chat, try wines and have a conversation with other customers.

Try their cheese plates.

They have a huge selection of nice wines to any taste.

Nice to have this one in the neighborhood. It's great to have this little wine bar around especially since you don't see your typical young college bar crowd. The clientele is generally in it's 30's and on weekdays one can find mainly locals from the UWS packed into this little space. So if you just moved to the UWS it's a great spot to meet new people who live close by.

The wine choices are good and I recommend trying some of the offered desert wines, especially the Austrian Karcher Trockenbeerenauslese.

Maybe you should not go here if you are really very hungry, even though the little snacks are all very delicious but not cheap.

Many reviews mention the bar staff and most of them comment the same way: that they are rude and not very professional. For the record, I completely DISAGREE with these statements. The 3 ladies I have come to known who work there are all very pleasant, especially when one has a "please" and "thank you" on the lips when ordering from them. Maybe these magic words were missing when the critics of the bar staff went there. Anyway, I have been many times to this bar and also introduced quite a few friends to it and nobody ever told me that they have been treated rudely.

In summary, this is a place I highly recommend.

Great Little Place. I work near Bin 71 and I can't tell you how happy I was to find it among all the offerings in this area. Bin 71 is a perfect place to meet your friends for a glass of vino after work. The wines are simply delicious. They have a really nice selection and if you like wine, you will leave here happy. Expect to pay $9-$16 dollars per glass. The food is delightful to, but it's a bit overpriced and the portions are very small. The meatballs are yummy, but they are $12 for 3 meatballs. This is the single drawback of this place. If you like cozy spaces, are need a glass of wine and on the UWS, you should check it out!

Great wine bar. This is a fun spot and if you can get a seat you will enjoy the tapas.

It gets crowded but the people are generally friendly so it doesn't tend to ruin the experience. If you're in search of a good glass of wine on e the Upper west, you've found it.
