Editorial Review for Regional – by Casey Acierno

In Short
Floor-to-ceiling windows brighten a dining room decorated with oversized barrels stuffed with wine bottles. The menu is a sampling of adventurous, yet reasonably priced, Italian cuisine based on regional specialties. Innovative ravioli fillings, like veal and Parmesan cheese and beet and ricotta cheese, represent the North, while Sicilian dishes like pasta with tomato and almond pesto and macaroni with eggplant and tomato sauce make the case for the South.

Insider Tips

What to Drink

From the extensive wine list, a $28 bottle of Melini Chianti Borghi d'Elsa 2006 pairs well with the Tuscan flavors.

Save Money

Rather explore the wine list than have a full dinner? Regional also serves salumi and formaggi for a proper wine and cheese party.

The service was great and so was the food was very good (the pasta dishes we had were excellent - the bucatini and ravioli). The winelist is very reasonable. We also had the Frito Misto-(assorted fried seafood (calamari)) appetizer which was delicious. Went on a Friday night and were lucky enough to get a table for two with a minimal wait, but it was definitely crowded. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a solid meal with nice atmosphere

This neighborhood restaurant is an intesting place. We really enjoyed our first meal here and can't wait to return. The pastas are really affordable and really delicious. My buocatini was cooked al dente (just like they would in Italy. The salad was fresh and crunchy. They had some interesting choices of wines by the glass and by the time dessert came (a pear and bufala ricotta tart) we were happy like to peas in a pod! We really recommend Regional.
