“Brunch is more reasonable, and their menu gets creative.”
“The food and ambience are nice enough, but the service here is appallingly bad for a restaurant that charges these prices.”
“Great staff, great food, great ambiance.”

Downhill. It is unfortunate that this restaurant has really gone downhill in the last year. Went there for brunch today and was very disappointed. The first waiter that approached our table looked so hungover that I though he had came straight to work form last night's rave. He handed us over to the next waiter. (not sure why?) who got our order wrong and never apologized. He would be better suited selling fake Rolexes than working in what use to be a fine restaurant. They still make very tasty scrambled eggs, but this is a shell of the restaurant that I enjoyed so much just a year ago.
B-e-a-utiful West Village Restaurant. Gusto Ristorante is the real deal. Came here with a group of 8 and had the most pleasant dining experience. The place was buzzing with a great crowd, great food, great cocktails, and great service.
We went there for the second time in two weeks. The first time my son and I went and the prix fix brunch is perfect - with the warm donut holes.
The ricotta pancakes and frittatas, as well as unlimited Bloody Mary's for the first hour, were wonderful!
The second time was with my family as a brunch again for a birthday celebration. This time we had the private room in the wine cellar and were pampered!
I can't wait to try dinner next!
Authentic Yummy Italian. Italian food really doesn't get more authentic than Gusto Ristorante. Took my girlfriend here for dinner (solid date spot) and everything was perfect from the service, wine, food, and dessert. Good music as well. Highly recommend this place. cheers!
Great authentic food. This place is by far one of my best spots. The food here is awesome and the service is fast, friendly. You need to come here and check this place out. You'll love it
Gusto is the best Italian. Just came through for a quick bite during lunch. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. I even ordered something that wasn't on the menu and the chef was more than accommodating. I will definitely be back...the decor is nice and it's a great spot for a birthday party.
Lost their edge.
I hadn't been here in a couple of years - I've had many good meals here. What happened? It was empty ... the staff was indifferent ... the food was good, but not great ... just not the Gusto I remember.
great Plece!. I love this resturant. Absolutely fabulous. The food and the drinks are wonderful
Truly the BEST!!!.
I went to Gusto for the second time this past Friday evening and was blown away. I went once over the summer and the food was good, but this last time solidified it in my mind as truly, one of the best Italian restaurants in NY. Their pasta, mostly home made, is better than Babbo's (sorry Mario) and a fraction of the price. If you want a fun evening at a chic West Village hot spot with a laid back vibe, not only will you enjoy the energy of this place, but the food is wonderful! According to our waiter, the restaurant has been going through some transitions and there is a new chef/owner named Saul something rather. In my mind, the food is getting better and better so keep up the good work Saul. I'll definitely be going back more often.
As for the service, we had a very nice, tall, dark and handsome, young man waiting on us;) He was extremely friendly, but not oppressively so. He was happy to engage us in conversation without rambling on and on. We felt very taken care of. I don't know what else to say really. Great staff, great food, great ambiance. I had a great time and I'm sure you will too!!! Thanks Gusto! See you soon!
Great place great food. GUSTO ristorante is probably my favorite restaurant in NY. We have gone there for several important celebrations and they have never let us down. Food, service, wine list everything is amazing, and the atmosphere is a great mix of friendly/special. I highly recommend the Octopus and the Dover Sol !!
