“No complaints, casual atmosphere - great space.”
“We all shared dessert which was delicious.”
“is always in the kitchen--Prime has one of the best wine lists in New York.”
“Great food, great service!”
“The food was really good, they had some weird things on the menu too- if you want to try something different.”
“If you are looking for a great place to spend some money on a great dinner, BLT Prime should always be an option.”
“we wanted to love this place but were awfully disappointed and will never go back”
“with nearly 15 years of collective experience of living in nyc, we agreed that it had the worst service we've ever experienced.”
“The steak was very good (though not incredible), the appetizers and sides where forgettable and overpriced.”
“The waiter was nice, but not great, he seemed confused when I asked for a wine recommendation between $50-60, went off to read his cliff notes, then returned 10 minutes later with a $70 recommendation.”
The name is almost unfair; the quality of the meat (and the food generally) is so much higher at BLT Prime than at BLT steak that it really should be called something else. The sides are extraordinary too.
Best Steak House in NYC?. The best BLT restaurant for sure. We loved everything. Even sides were different and excellent!! Wine list was amazing.
Best BLT restaurant. This is my favorite BLT restaurant! It has a little bit of everything! BLT Fish and Fish Shack has mainly seafood, BLT Steak has mainly steaks, etc. I am completely in love with this restaurant! Their staff is more than helpful (managers included)! I have to say that I have never had a bad experience in this restaurant. If you are looking for a great quality meal, and have never been to any of the BLT's, then I think you should definitely go to BLT Prime first. They have an amazing wine selection also. Great food, great service! A definite must.
Amazing Food!. BLT Prime is one of my favorite places in NEW YORK the prices are high but the quality of the food is well worth it! The staff is attentive and well versed in the menu. I recommend the tuna tartar (best ever!) and the peanut butter chocolate banana souffle cake!
Totally overrated.
I took my boyfriend out to dinner for a special occasion and was so excited to try BLT Prime. We are Wolfgang's lovers and expected to have an even better experience at BLT Prime, but we were sorely disappointed. Despite not being crowded, the server seemed disinterested in us at best. He was inattentive and apathetic and we had to wait over ten minutes for our drinks to come back from the bar.
I was willing to overlook the shotty service if the food was great. Again, disappointed. Our $80 sirloin for two was severely undercooked. We ordered it medium and received a dancing cow on our plates instead. The meat was so rare it was cold. We sent it back and the server appeared as if we were inconveniencing him with our request to have our meat cooked to our requested temperature.
All in all, BLT Prime was a huge disappointment. For great steak and great service, go to Wolfgang's.
Great Steaks!!. I love the ribeye @ BLT and they have great appetizers, but the reason for 4 stars is I believe they are a little to pricey. Great place for cocktails!
poor food, subpar service.
For the price and multitude of other steak places to eat, we'd recommend going elsewhere. This was possibly the worst meal we've had in the city. Given, everyone has their bad nights, but there were several areas that fell short.
Pros: 1. good wine, knowledgable sommlier 2. nice ambiance 3. kind manager (who happenned to ask us how our meal was on our way out. He offered his card and asked us back, but we'll go elsewhere...) 4. good popovers (but not good enough to make up for the rest of the meal)
Cons:
1. sides were too salty (and we tend to like things on the saltier side). The beans, caesar salad and home fries were hard to swallow, but if you like dijon or mustard, then maybe the home fries are for you. 2. we ordered a porterhouse for 2 done medium, but it was cooked inconsistently and the char covering the entire steak made it difficult to cut or chew, even for my husband. The steak was so tough and dry that it seemed like these weren't prime cuts of meat. 3. lemon merangue was too sweet 4. service was lacking. At every steakhouse we've been to, the sides were presented and a spoonful was always offered. Additionally, when we ordered porterhouse steaks, the cuts of steak were presented and a slice of eat part was plated for us. None of this was done here. The cuts of steak were also huge (probably about 7 pieces of meat on the 36 ounce porterhouse) - too large if you ask me. The cuts should have been smaller. And the wait staff should have taken more time at the table, rather than dropping everything off and scurrying away in a rush (it wasn't a busy night either, and there were too many waiters standing around). It would have also been nice if someone other than the manager on the way out, had asked us how the meal was.
Overall, the food was very disappointing. There was so much promise in this menu because they have nice twists on the traditional sides that are offered at other steakhouses, but the execution by the cooks and waitstaff fell short.
I Love This Restaurant. Wow, this place is expensive, but what isn't down here? We were lucky and got a table. Here's your place. We started out with crab cake and the ceaser salad. Awesome. The main dishes ordered were the lamb, rib eye and no red meat for me, but chicken, yes, thank you for being "the other white meat" because their chicken was so good I couldn't believe it. This is partly why I can't give up the chicken. Yum. Anyway, save up some money, come here for a special occasion, enjoy.
Great Dinner!. The food was really good, they had some weird things on the menu too- if you want to try something different. Their dinner rolls are very tasty. Service was perfect, wine A+, ambiance was really upscale, modern- it was trendy, but not cheap looking, and comfortable. I really enjoyed dinner there and will be back.
over priced and overrated. avoid kobe steaks.
Go to Del Frisco's, Morton's or Ruth Chris Steakhouse instead!!
Found flies in the restaurant. I am embarassed that I took my in-laws.
Wonderful Dining Experience. Amazing steaks, very attentive service, the creamed corn with truffles was to die for, drinks were great!! No complaints, casual atmosphere - great space. The wine list is superb!! Definitely a must to try!!
