Match 65 - A PERFECT match for your dining experience. A few days ago, my husband and I decided to try the restaurant Match 65 on 65th btwn Park and Madison. I must say it was a FABULOUS experience, and we will be returning with friends next week. When we arrived, we were greeted by a sweet and friendly hostess, who sat us immediately and made us feel right home. The restaurant was beautiful and elegantly designed, with a warm and candle lit feeling..perfect to escape the cold. The wait staff was attentive to our needs and were quick to serve (but never rushed us). Our waitress was extremely friendly, and had some great suggestions for us "first time" diners (Try the TUNA TARTARE to start, it is amazing!). The portions were perfect and the steak was to die for! Overall, the experience was amazing!!! We can't wait to return!
GREAT BRASSERIE - GREAT VALUE. Brasserie with great food, excellent value, nice staff in a beautiful setting.
Escargot was Delicious!.
Brasserie and sushi, very interesting combination!
Since I was in a French mood, I didn't actually test this combo...this time. We started with escargot and they were lovely; buttery with just the right amount of garlicky kick.
Next up, the Salmon Lyonnaise - perfectly cooked and came with a nice mixture of fresh roasted vegetables. The potatoes in particular were delicious. The prices are reasonable and it's a great neighborhood spot!
Excellent Food, Great Service, Wonderful atmosphere.. I had an amazing meal there last night. I had the best frisee and lardons salad I've had in a while. I also had a couscous which was very good. My buddies had hangar steaks, which they said were just ok. A friend's gf had a hamburger which tasted very good. I don't really like couscous as a rule, but the Madame Samira lamb couscous was very good. The busboys were great; low impact, but appeared magically when they heard a fork dropped and replaced it. They didn't rush us in clearing. The waiter was very solicitous and informed us as to his recs, which were all great. Fantastic lighting, the music was great and not too loud. I came away wondering why there weren't too many people there, which was another great part of it. The noise level was ideal, as the music was soft and you didn't need to scream to converse. They have Leffe on draft, which won us over immediately, as most of the guys are beer afficionados who sorely miss that beer in NY. I almost went out and started to try and pull people in who were outside looking at the menu. I really feel this place deserves a try, if only for how nice the staff is and how peaceful it is there. I am going back to try the tuna or the salmon, as it looked good at a neighboring table. All in all a great experience and we had only walked in because it was on the way to where we were going!
