don't use your Living Social coupon here!. Service has always been very bad, even if we were the only customers the service is very slow. I had a living social coupon and got completely ripped off. They served less than 1/3 of the normal portions expecting us to pay the full amount, I ended up paying 18 bucks for 1 shrimp, 1 calamari and onions. - Since I prepaid I had no choice but to at least use up the money I put in. I will never go back. there are many places in NYC were I can go for Peruvian food.

Loving Lima!. First of all, I'm debating on whether or not to call those who gave negative reviews whiners instead of diners. Lima's Taste is an excellent escape from the mundane world of common cuisine eateries found in New York (e.g. Italian, Chinese, Thai, etc.). Operated by Lima native Nelly, the decor and charm of Lima's Taste has been great to revitalize the once bland Christopher Street area that has seen many businesses come and go due to poor management. I went there for ceviche and not only left with my appetite satisfied, but with the knowledge I will be back in the future. Across from the famous Lucille Lortel theater, the staff at the restaurant do a great job in taking down your order and addressing any questions or concerns you might have with your order. After dinner, stay for the music (on special nights) and most importantly their great selection of traditional Latin desserts such as flan and dulce de leche.

Disappointment. First of all, we received good comments f/other people, and I was trying to prove my friend who came from Germany with her family there is good Peruvian food in Manhattan, but unfortunately again big disappointment, first w/Pio Pio in the city and then this... The portions were tiny, food didnt have any taste, ceviche and tiradito were made w/FROZEN FISH... No chicha morada, no tamales... the chicken saltado had 5 pcs of chicken, the small portion of sweet potato ordered for a baby was way too expensive for what it was. Sincerely that place has to close, there was a guy who was running around paying attention to other people and no to us, and we were a 4 adults, 1 little girl and a baby. What happened? I seriously cannot understand why a Peruvian restaurant give such crappy attention to Peruvians!

Taste of Lima My @$$. My wife is from Lima, Peru and she has made plenty of food for me from there and all i can say about "Taste Of Lima" is it was the hugest joke ever. For starters the amount you pay for how little food you get is ridiculous. Second of the food is no where close to what the real dish taste like and finally the service was the worst service i have ever had. I recommend that you dont waste your time here cause all you will get is a huge bill, an empty stomach, and a headache. Please just go somewhere else...this place needs to be shut down.

Exquisite ceviches in a authentic style and charming service. Last night was a taste to remember! This had to of been the truest enlightenment to good food I have had in NY. This place is a worthwhile quality eatery to recommend, I was quite pleased with the quality of food being served as well as the tasty drinks which reminded me a lot of traditional Peruvian food back home. This place deserves an utmost appreciation for reaching out to its customers; everything was in perfect taste and more importantly with pleasing service. To start, my husband and mother in- law went straight for the Ceviches, the Mixto and Salmon ceviche which were in a splendid fresh and spice ending, my favorite was the Mixto as well as the Lomo Saltado which was exactly like it should be but with an extra quality of filet mignon being added in the Lomo. Another favorite dish came in with the Aji de Pollo and seafood Picante both in a creamy spicy captivating sauce. Everything resembled exactly like the taste from Lima, Peru. I am always traveling back home and there is nothing like putting real authentic flavor into ones mouth. If you are going to be drawn away into places that give good service but deliver mediocre food on the table? At this restaurant Lima’s Taste, it is not only on a historic and engaging neighborhood in downtown west village, but the food you get here is something else; you won't find such good food anywhere else as you do here at this restaurant.
