The Scene – Plum-colored walls peek from between brick exposures and vividly hued paintings, including a bright rendition of "The Last Supper" that seems anything but somber. The effect is as smooth and refreshing as the house sangria--seemingly made for sipping in the restaurant's ornately carved chairs. You'll often catch the affable owner checking the score of the Peruvian soccer match on the flat-screen TV. – – The Food – At once exotic and comforting, this is Peruvian home cooking at its best. A large portion of fried yucca, grilled shrimp, and scallops fills the…
Horrible service, lots of mice in the restaurant
by NYUJOSE
I had dinner there on Oct. 1 and it was a big disappointment. No one greeted us, the host was playing a video game facing opposite the entrance. Most f the drinks on the menu were not available since the slush machine had been broken for a week. Really...
Then we saw a few mice crawling around the dining area, they were hard to see since the light were dim. When I alereted our waiter, he shrugged indicating that it happens at nighttime. The passionfruit dessert was rtoo swet and had to wait 5 minutes after it was brought to my table to get a spoon.
- Pros: tasty food
- Cons: mediocre service, mice crawling around restaurant
Outstanding

Excellent food, uniquely different to other cuisines. We found the staff to be very curtious and friendly. The service was slow, but, we were out enjoying our dinner, our company, and talking over delicious food - who want's to be rushed when you are enjoying yourself. It was our second visit and will not be our last. Lima's Taste is a favorite for us.
- Pros: Authentic Peruvian cuisine
HORRENDOUS

First of all, I am not exaggerating when I say that the entire staff here are so incredibly rude, to the point of being shocking. You can expect to be rushed out, only after being ignored and subjected to a "your lucky to be here" attitude. There's a guy [ with a rather disturbing Geri-Curl ] who stomps around loudly, like a zombie taking plates before asking, mumbling about the patrons and grabbing menus out of peoples hands. It was unbelievable, everyone was looking around at one another in disbelief. Everyone on staff was nasty to everyone. I thought perhaps we were taking part in a "Candid Camera" episode. You do not want to go here, especially when there are so many wonderful restaurants in Manhattan to choose from. If you are jonesing for paella, really great paella, go to Socaratt [spelling?] on 259 W19th and 7th Ave.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: WORST SERVICE EVER/overpriced/low quality
