Horrible Experience - My Poor Pup
by PoorPup212
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE TO GET GROOMED!!! This has been the worst experience ever - My poor pup has to live with his horrible haircut. Thank GOD - I can cover most of his hair cut with a sweater and a hat. Groomer has no experience - hair cut was choppy and undone and he didnt even cut all his nails.. When I picked up my dog- he was shaking and whining like his was hurt. It took me two hours to calm him down - NEVER AGAIN - YOU SUCK GROOMERS - NEVER AGAIN!!!
Watch out: PET ABUSE.
by PoochMom
Please, for those of you who care about your pets, DO NOT send your dogs here while this man I am describing is still working here. I used to shop here all the time because they had good organic treats for reasonable prices and a good selection of Ruff Luv clothes. My friend and I came in to browse and we watched the small dog play area and saw the "tech", as they call their employees, be aggressive with all of the dogs. He picked them up by their throats, and a couple of them by their necks, which I understand, but them he would fling them across from a couple of feet in the air without crouching down. And I'm talking about tiny dogs with potential knee and hip issues who shouldn't be landing on their legs after being thrown in the air. He hit a couple of dogs who got extra loud as I came closer to the window and would roll his eyes when the woman in the large dog area would say something to him. A dog had peed on the floor and he grabbed the mop to clean it up and A Cavalier King Charles had followed him to put it back and he hit the dog with the dirty mop!! While I was watching this, another man had made a comment to the staff and "Charlene" claimed it was natural to be picked up by the scruff and they were just "playing". As I was leaving, my friend saw the web cams and said, "so that's why that guy keeps sitting in that corner, the camera isn't on him!", I had noticed the web cam is only on the slide and no dogs hang out there, they are either in the "time out jail", or sitting by it with the "tech". I watched for another minute and a Maltese had peed near the slide, the "tech" walked over and kicked it, where it fumbled and slammed on its back into the slide, the "tech" then got the broom, walked toward to a cream French bulldog sniffing the pee, and kicked it and my friend and I gasped really loud. Once again, Charlene claimed they were "just playing", and I clarified that the MAN in the room KICKED the Maltese and frenchie. She walked over to him, said something to him and he nodded his head. I was really upset about this so I called them and asked about the situation, and once she asked if my dog was a client of theirs, and I had answered "no", all common courtesy went out the window. I asked her if they were animal lovers or if this was just a job to them, she claimed the French bulldog went after the broom and he HAD to kick the dog, what a lie!! I reiterated what I saw, and she said they were understaffed and he must've been overwhelmed, but they still had to run a business. After raving about her online reviews and the fact they had a web cam, she said she was just a supervisor and the manager had to deal with him. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE OR BOARD YOUR PET HERE.
- Pros: good prices
- Cons: abuseful staff, rude supervisor, crammed rooms
Uncaring and Inattentive Staff
by mooreross
I liked Happy Paws website and they got great reviews online. I brought my dog for her first day of daycare. Right away I didn't like it. It was extremely crowded and cramped with no room for the dogs to run around. But they said it was busier than usual because of the holiday weekend. Fine. What really upset me was the apathetic staff and they completed neglected the dogs. One person is not enough to watch so many dogs. There were dogs humping each other in the corner and two dogs fighting- one had a pug pinned to the ground and clamped down on the pug's neck for a good minute or two- and the "supervisor" never saw this or stopped it. The supervisor for the big dogs didn't realize I was there and CHUCKED a water bottle at a group of little dogs. He also rattled the cages to get them riled up.
I would not trust these people with my dog and I would advise you not to either.
- Pros: clean
- Cons: cramped, unsafe, neglectful and uncaring staff
Worst place in the city for grooming
by Holt1983
I took my Lhasa here several times and EVERY time they acted like they were doing the BIGGEST favor for me by grooming her. Ummmm you should be thanking me for the $90 pricetag! Get real people, don't be a groomer if you can't handle a dog! She came back twice with razor burn and once they just sliced off a little pimple she had on her foot. When you call and complain they deny everything and they always blame everything on your dog. Funny that no onther groomer has ever had so much trouble grooming her. I am telling everyone I know, and I work in the Pet industry, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOLE!!!!!!!!
- Pros: what pros????
- Cons: overpriced, unprofessional, rude, careless
My dog likes Happy Paws
by winobabe
this place is great. They have consistent employees. I have couple of friends that also take their dogs here for daycare and everyone is happy with the webcams. service and large spacious rooms. Nothing but great remarks for this place.
I was late at work one day and couldn't pick up my dog. I called them and immediately they made accomodations to drop off my dog to my home since my girlfriend was at home. I really think they take their time to make sure everyone is happy.
- Pros: Great place
