Vintage New York Winebar & Restaurant

...madly stylish..." - The Daily News

  • Locally-Grown Wine and Produce
  • Wine Flights and Pairings
  • Largest By-The-Glass List

Vintage New York WineBar Restaurant is a feast for the senses. With 56 seats on two levels, including a balcony that overlooks the tasting room, it is a stylish and comfortable space. We offer more than 200 wines by the glass, and a creative menu of wine-friendly food at very reasonable prices. Every menu item has a suggested wine pairing and we have a dozen different three-wine flights available every day.

Vintage New York® WineBar is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Dobias as Chef. Chef Dobias, a native Long Islander, brings with him a passion for local food and wine that perfectly marries with our restaurant?s culinary mission.

His interest and experience in local foods is exemplary, and his menu is not only delicious and inventive, but fits completely with our philosophy of eating and drinking locally.

Editorial Review for Vintage New York Winebar & Restaurant – by Katie Heffernan

The Scene
This airy space abandons the cozy wine bar formula for a simple, functional style. The light wood tables, clean-lined banquettes and metal-mesh tower of wine all recall Swedish design--ideal for studying the "Big List's" 200 bottles. Groups interested in learning come to survey the region's grapes, while post-shopping-spree couples get comfortable in the upstairs loft which overlooks browsers in the parent store. Helpful servers make selection unintimidating, recommending bottles based on moods or palettes.

The Draw
Chalkboard specials and a handy menu--with arrows pointing glasses to their perfect appetizer pairing--prepare patrons for their classroom-like lesson in local wines. To get a taste worthy of the selection--spanning meads to iced wines, from the Hudson River to the Finger Lakes--try one of the dozen flights contrasting same-grape varietals. The Sauvignon Blanc trio compares Long Island vineyards, while the robust red blend triplet pits table wine Pindar Pythagoras beside powerful Macari Bergen Road.

The ladies and I thought wed spoil ourselves with a night on the town, without the hubbies. As we strutted ourselves up the street we passed Vintage and thought we drop in. Its kind of trendy but we thought were still trendy in our old fashioned kinda way. Well let me tell you the afternoon brunch turned in to an evening of laughs, wine and nibblies. We had an amazing time and will be visiting there again real soon without the hubbies.... Thank you for the great afternoon/ evening !!

Unless you want swarms of fruit flies and a couple of raging lunatic owners overseeing your event, I don't recommend this place. I caught a wierd vibe from the female owner when we called to discuss details, but figured I was being paranoid. I have hosted events all over NYC, and have yet to encounter anywhere as unprofessional as Vintage. The couple could be heard arguing loudly when I visited the space, and surely enough they were at it again the night of my event. Screaming obscenities during an event is insane. The food was mediocre at best, and very sparse. I am a fan of the boutique NY wine industry, and wish that Vintage did a better job with such a beautiful idea. Don't trust the good reviews. After speaking several times with the male owner and reading his write-ups around the store, I'm sure they're his.
