AWESOME WORK

Max was great on the phone and my Alienware is now working perfectly again. AAA++++ job! Weather issues delayed shipment back but overall a good experience.

Frustrating experience

I sent my daughter's laptop in for a power jack repair. They did not contact me when they received the laptop as promised. Two days after they recevied it, I finally got a hold of them, and they told me they would put a technician on it right away and call me back. They never called back. Two days later, I finally got a hold of them and they said they would update the status within an hour.

They did update the status, and requested that I pay $195 because they also found some overheating issues. I made the payment and they promised to have the work done and ship the laptop back out by the next day.

Three days passed with no word, so I finally called them back. After several hours of no one answering the phone, I finally reached them. They told me there was a delay because they had to order the part, but that the laptop was fixed now and would ship right away and I that would get a tracking number automatically by 5pm.

This did not happen. I called repeatedly over the next few days and got no answer and no call back. I finally reached them again on Wednesday of last week (1/27/10). They put me on hold and came back about five minutes later, apologizing that they had not sent the laptop, but that they were sending it right now via FedEx Express Saver since it was their mistake. He gave me a tracking number.

By Friday morning the tracking number still showed that the laptop had never been picked up. I called again and again and finally someone answered. I told them the problem and they asked me to hold. After about half an hour of holding, they came back on the line and said that FedEx was tracing the package and that it had been picked up by the driver. They said they would call me back between 5:30 and 6:00pm that evening with an update. If they couldn't find it, they said, they'd file a claim.

They did not call back. I could not reach them for two days after that. The tracking number still showed that the laptop had not been picked up. Finally, after several days, with no contact from them, no movement on the tracking number, I decided I must have been duped. I requested a merchant dispute to try and get my money back.

Two days after that, the tracking number finally showed that the laptop had been picked up, and I received it a few days later. It worked for about a week, but now has completely died. It won't boot, but the power jack still works, so I must assume the problem is not related to the repair.

All in all, my dealings with this company were frustrating. I wish I had taken the laptop to a local company instead.

Techs told me on phone that they suspected voltage regulator on laptop motherboard. Replaced four of them. Were concerned with first time repair success. Laptop has been running perfectly for some time now. Very happy with repair.
