In Short – Despite the hustle and bustle of its location (smack dab in the middle of Koreatown), Me'Bar doesn't see a lot of foot traffic. Hidden on the 14th floor of La Quinta, this tourist-friendly spot is no-frills--its tiny indoor space has mirrored walls and linoleum floors, while a mid-size outdoor area offers umbrella tables encircled by a white picket fence. Big city glamour comes from the nearby Empire State building, towering overhead.
Great Hidden Rooftop Bar in the Heart of Midtown
by CSMobileUser at Citysearch
Me Bar is a great midtown bar, hidden from the bustling Midtown atmosphere on the 14th Floor of the La Quinta Hotel on W. 32 Street. Great staff and bartender, great selection of beer and liquor and an incredible outdoor area (drinking and smoking permitted) that is heated in the winter, covered when it rains, and beautful in the summer. Great decor on the inside makes the bar a comfortable destination for regulars and newbies, alike. A must visit for those looking to have a great night in Midtown Manhattan
Great Bartenders Bad Door Girl
by mffunke at Citysearch
A bunch of friends decided to go to MeBar for another friends Birthday after going out for dinner. Upon arrival the door girl said we had to wait, which we definitely didnt mind. As we were waiting we happened to see a bunch of people exit from the elevator, naturally we got up from our seats and started to head toward the elevator. The door girl instead of asking us nicely to continue to wait decided to throw her ego around and proceed to go on for a five minute lecture on how "we were never told we were allowed to get up from our seats". So we continue to wait. The door girl finally allows us to proceed to the elevator. A woman behinds us is allowed entrance as well, but tells the door girl she would rather wait for her friends. The door girls says a snippy comment on how she's now not sure if the other girl will be allowed to go up when her friends get there. Annoyed we make our way upstairs where we settle in and the night seems to become ten times better. The bartenders are chill and fun providing witty dialogue , bottles of champagne ($30 who could say no?...yea the first glass tastes like razors...but you get over it) start flowing. They definitely saved the night! Cheers to them!
- Pros: bartenders, drinks, other patrons
- Cons: door girl
