We had an awful experience with Oz for our move from NY to LA and would not use them again. The highlights: 1) Overcharged us by 200 cubic feet. We were charged for 1050 cf on move day. When our stuff arrived in LA, we found a form taped to a chair listing a total cf of 850. We told Oz, but no refund until we sent a photo of the form. Seems like they could have just looked in their own records rather than waiting for us to show them that we really did have proof. 2) Tried to cancel our delivery date. We booked our delivery date (9/1) early because we knew it would be a busy time--first of month and Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Oz confirmed date twice. 3 days before, got a call saying we needed to reschedule because giving us the 9/1 (Sat.) date was a "mistake" and claiming that because Monday was a federal holiday, they wouldn't be doing ANY moves the ENTIRE Labor Day weekend. 3) Damage of $590 to furniture per insurance adjuster. After we asked for a shelf to be wrapped in a blanket for extra protection, Foreman told his men to unwrap the blanket and leave just shrink wrap. Foreman assured us it would be fine; of course it wasn't. The corners and edges of the wrap had ripped and the shelf was scuffed and scratched. Foreman also liked to use our dining table as his personal desk. Front door in our apartment was through the dining area. One of his guys stopped moving a dresser because he saw the table was in the path and told the foreman the table needed to be packed/moved first. Foreman tried to squeeze the dresser by and rammed the it into the table. Two legs cracked. 4) Packing method increased volume and cost The seat cushions to our sofa were placed diagonally into otherwise empty wardrobe boxes. Also, we were told during the estimate that our shoe shelves (we have a lot of shoes--one closetful), would be disassembled by them. Instead, they were packed as they were and a few were put into a wardrobe box leaving it a third empty.
Pros: Cost Per cubic feet was low
Cons: How many Cubic feet is up to them; jerked around on delivery date; damage to goods

I have moved so many times, I swore I would never to it again. But, like so many things, moving is something that you sometimes have to do, even if you dont want to. A very good (and very picky) friend recommended Oz. I looked at quite a few movers online before I started making phone calls, and their website is really helpful - I mean, actual tips and advice I could use. My salesperson (Molly) was a doll, and they emailed me everything in writing. What she told me would happen actually happened on the day of the move and the guys were great. Also, I have a huge sofabed (and a small new front door) and even though it was last minute, they have a guy that was able to take it apart. They really have thought of everything, and it was a pleasure doing business with them!
Pros: Everyone I dealt with was so friendly and helpful
Cons: a little more than some of the other guys, but worth every single penny.
