“We all worked together and it was great meeting people we otherwise wouldn't have!”
Great afternoon. Went with friends a few months ago to the downtown one. Was very fun and it's something different to do.
GREAT AFTERNOON for amateur sleuths. 6 amateur sleuths from GA, FL and WI who enjoy Geo Caching and the like were delightfully amused on our travels thru Little Italy, China Town and the surrounding area. The Accomplice crew members we fun, funny and excellent at their jobs! Adult beverages, frogs in bags and interesting clues were all part of our GREAT AFTERNOON on 9/20/09. At the very end, I fell right off my chair and thankfully NO ONE had their camera ready!
Both Accomplice shows are great!. I have now been to both Accomplice, N.Y.s, downtown and the village. Both are great. The actors are wonderful and great at Improv. Such a great fun thing to do with a group of friends. Not only is the show very entertaining but you get to see cafes, bars, and shops, along the way that you might have never known were there. I plan to go back to the neighborhoods visited during the show for dinner and fun at a later date. The show downtown has a lot more ground to cover than the village, so if you are going with someone who has any trouble walking I would go to the village show. Enjoy!!
Most Fun We Had In NYC. Better not to tell anything at all other than to go - The "show" is part game and part theatre. It's full of surprises and super fun. Takes place all over Greenwich Village and there are improv actors - it was hilarious and full of surprises. Don't want to ruin it but check it out if you're looking for something different. Our teenagers even liked it! We saw the "Village" version. I believe the "New York" version opens in April. Have fun!
Good for tourists, Great way to see a small section of the city, kind of dumbed down....
I was excited to do this show after my wife found it online. It was mysterious and I was expecting a day full of espionage. As we were waiting for our contact, I was watching EVERYONE. We kept pointing out people we thought were in on it. That alone I thought would make this a great day; not knowing who was in on it and who was.
Well....
It's not long before you figure it out. The characters are SO over the top and WAY overacted. That kind of thing might be good for a tourist, but even the people in our group from the midwest were cringing at the cheese factor.
All of the actors were very nice, very accomodating, but with the exception of one at the end, very cheesy and almost unbearable.
There really was no adrenaline, no mystery, no excitement. There was a great walking tour of Little Italy and Chinatown, but that was the extent of it. I won't give up any secrets, but I really wanted this to work and it just doesn't.
I like the idea, but we spent the day figuring out ways to do it better. That's not what I expected to get out of the price.
ACCOMPLICE TOUR (WIZARD OF OZ). The second Accomplice tour we went on was very boring and disappointing. The first tour we went on was EXCITING, FULL OF ENERGY and FUN, what happened? If you went on the first tour, do not expect a great time. Probably won't go again.
Great way to see the city. We took this "tour" while on our honeymoon. It was the most fun I've had in a long time, I can't say too much about the "plot" but I saw more of the city then I ever have, we were with a group that were celebrating a 40th birthday, I would recommend this to anyone. I hope to go back with girlfriends and do the Greenwich Village show. It's part scavenger hunt, part walking tour. I was apprehensive because I don't like "hammy" actors but they were fantastic.
Memories galore. Holy cow, this was a fantastic way to introduce people to NYC. Had a group of friends in last August and instead of doing a boring tour decided this might be more fun and adventurous. We had a blast (ages ranged from early 20s to 50s) being instructed on picking up documents, making drops, and not being a stool pidgeon. LOL Got to see parts of NY I wouldn't ever have seen, as well as the more famous. I'll never forget my friend Alyssa going across the Brooklyn Bridge to retrieve a clue! LOL The best part is that its fun and you never know WHO is in on it and who isn't (because let's face it... we NYers are nuts to begin with). :) Well worth your time and money.
Teams of sleuths embark across Lower Manhattan, solving the criminal mystery behind this interactive theater show and walking tour..
In Short
It starts with a telephone call from a gritty voice--"I don't know nothin' about nothin' 'cept where you gotta be tomorrow." The plot thickens as groups of tourists and families become criminal middlemen, slinking through the Financial District, Chinatown and Little Italy to perform covert hand-offs for a gang of improvising wise guys. Groups get out what they put in, so keep in character for the duration--and the surprise ending will pay off even more.
Don't Miss This!. Didn't know what to expect out of Accomplice: New York, but it was totally fun. Different than anything we've ever done - fun, engrossing and hilarious! Totally original. Thanks!
