Wrong Order, Belligerent Staff – Do NOT order take out. My food was 45 minutes late, cold, and the order was wrong. If you dispute the order, the obnoxious Rosie Perez-esque cashier claims the "music is too loud" so she couldn't hear my order and after 10 minutes of arguing, it's clear she also doesn't know the difference between a bell pepper and a chili pepper. Manger was equally as useless. Avoid like the plague.
Slimy Snot Food. Eat at Your Own Risk!!! – Honestly, I've been living in NYC for several years now and this is -by far- the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. I ordered the massaman curry. To begin, the meat was very fatty and cooked poorly. The second bite contained what I believe had to have been a piece of cartilage. The entire dish was overcooked honestly. Now on to the WORST part, the OKRA. Oh my. I have never put something more disgusting in my mouth. I have had okra before and these people just have no clue how to cook it. If you've never eaten slimy okra, it's like blowing your nose into a tissue while you have a sinus infection and then deciding it looks so delicious that you'd like to nibble on it. I'm sorry for being so graphic, but there is no other way to describe it. I also give the service an F because my martini sucked too, and the waiter did not ask once if our food was alright, despite the fact that I had barely touched my drink or my food. When I finally asked for my poorly mixed drink to be remade, I discovered from the waiter that he had not put an ingredient in because they were out of it. So you served me a mixed drink minus a key ingredient and... then tried to pass it off as "stronger" then rolled your eyes at me when I asked for a replacement, and we still payed the bill.
My advice is to save your money. Apparently, having customers return to their restaurant is not a priority. I sincerely hope this sad excuse for a restaurant either gets a makeover, or goes out of business so something more worthwhile can move in on my block.
Why I avoid fusion places... – Fusion places often have a hard time getting the simple things right. Normally it's hard to go wrong with something as basic as Pad Thai, but theirs was an unnatural bright orange color, and tasted bland, with a strange, acrid undertone. I wouldn't eat here again.
cheap food, cute place – was walkin by with some girlfriends and decided to stop in... prices more than reasonable, food was delicious, waitstaff friendly (we were definitely taking our time and were not rushed at all even though it was fri night) the decor was cute, and i didnt notice the music though they had the mets game on (always a plus) would definitely go back
Horrible Music!!! – The worst ever, it feels like a middle school dance. Additionally, the place seems to be going for a sleeker kind of look, but it just needs a good power washing. Post power wash the resturant would look good.
Staff was good, food decent, good prices. Would not go back b/c of the music though.
Commercial & Unimpressive – I tried this restaurant based on the reviews on this website. It was completely sub par. If you are looking for good dim-sum this is not the place. The food was completely typical and although it was cheap I would not go back. The quality of the seafood was lacking, the shrimp in my fried rice was very suspect. Save your money.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Thai and dim sum restaurant near Union Square with a drink menu of soju cocktails, wine and beer.
great food - one of the best – just ordered a lunchtime delivery from friend house and was very pleased with the food...fresh, beautifully prepared dimsum (we ordered shrimp and seafood dumpling), the sticky rice wrapped in a leaf was heaven with shitake mushrooms and meat hidden inside and the summer rolls were good as well (though was a bit put off by the red peper inside : ( but overall the food was great (and you know how delivery can be half-a#sed - so if this is any indication of how great the food is at the actual restaurant...this place is great....in the new york scene where restaurants are fast to get a reputation and even faster to take it for granted - this restaurant seems to be one of the few that actually makes food asian food that is authentic and hearty - without any of the poser stinginess that you can find in this city.
Awesome – Hosted a large group for dinner on a Saturday. The service was excellent, the food was tasty and the overall experience was quite solid. I would recommend this place to anyone. All this, and your wallet remains in tact too!
Thai cuisine at its best! – This restaurant is so excellent... the decor is modern with lighting that makes the ambiance very casual and comfortable. The service was incredible, friendly and accomodating, my glass was never empty! The food came out hot, delicious and really well prepared. The dim sum was something I've never tried before and it was amazing! Spring rolls we're bigger than other thai places and the plum sauce had a really pleasant kick to it.... the best was the entree, the chicken was so tender and the chef added some extra things to our dish as we requested and it was fabulous! Can't say enough great things about this place... the food was exceptionally great and the staff was so friendly I could have stayed all night... Oh and the two for one wine special was the icing on the cake! Friend Place 2 ROCKS!!!
