Good vegan cupcakes. I eat vegan cupcakes because I am lactose intolerant and after trying a few other vegan cupcakes I love the babycakes frosting the most. In my opinion frpsting is one of the best parts of cupcakes. Some of the other vegan desserts seemed a little dry to me. Cupcakes are the thing to get here especially the vanilla ones.

Yummy Yummy Yummy. I went to this place with my friend who used to think she was allergic to gluten (when in fact she found out she was allergic to soy). I was a little scared of eating a cupcake since i dont really like trying new things. They now make their frosting w/out soy!!!! Makes no difference to me though-but these things were so good. And you don't feel like a giant fatty from eating them because you know you didn't eat any refined sugar or buttercream frosting. Better than Magnolia's- which I just tried this weekend and only ate the frosting because the cake tasted like turkey. Anyways- Babycakes= good cupcakes for everybody. Even people who are skeptical of new/alternative/natural ingredients like me!!!

If your not vegan you will feel cheated. Sorry but I just don't get it. The cupcakes cost far more than the delicious ones they have over at sweet sugar sunshine and they just don't taste good. I'm not vegan so I can easily taste the difference between a real cupcake and the fake vegan ones. It's just not pleasant. For most people it's a trek to the remote area is too far and it's just not worth the high prices.

Vegan Treats. I liked this vegan bakery. I ordered 2 cupcakes, 1 chocolate chip cookie and a lemonade. It came out to $9. I thought the cupcakes were alright. Be sure to eat them quickly as the frosting melts. I thought the chocolate chip cookie was excellent - not too sweet. It's hard to find yummy vegan treats. Based on that, I recommend trying it if you're in the neiborhood.

Frosting Heaven. "Babycakes is an amazing resource for people with food intolerances/allergies. It could be difficult for those not following strict diets to truly appreciate their efforts; although I know many people who think their treats are delicious regardless.

They tack up little signs next to each item listing what is in it. Gluten free and wheat free cupcakes can even be iced with soy free icing; that's how dedicated they are to providing something for everyone. It's a nice all natural, healthy alternative to refined sugars and hydrogenated oils. It is more expensive, but alternative flours and sweeteners naturally are.

Plus, the atmosphere is cute, cute, cute!"

Vegan Treats. Babycakes' cupcakes are delicious. One of the best things about Babycakes is that you can linger in house while you savor your treat. Rather than herd you outside, the staff welcomes you to sit in a sunny windowseat and flip through a Hatje Cantz book. Try the lemonade sweetened with agave nectar. The sweets are expensive because the high quality ingredients, like agave nectar, are expensive.

Overrated. The girls that work there are very nice. The setting couldn't be more adorable. But the cupcakes are perhaps the worst of the higher-end bakeries in the city. Unless you're craving wheat and gluten-free desserts, it's hardly worth the time, and especially the money. (almost twice the price of regular cupcakes.)

Worth the walk!. The chocolate chip cookies are DELICIOUS. I also tried the carrot cupcake and the vanilla cupcake. The cupcakes themselves are wonderful; the vanilla icing had a bit of a different taste than I was expecting (but then again, I'm not a vegan), but my boyfriend loved it. Absolutely worth the walk!!!

Fantastic Desserts. Went to Babycakes while in NYC for the weekend and was thrilled to have so many tasty GF options. Even my non-GF husband liked them!! They are a little pricey, but definitely worth it. We got 1 chocolate cupcake, 1 carrotcake cupcake, a banana chocolate bread, and an apple crumb cake slice. The apple crumb was my least favorite (kind of bland) but the banana chocolate bread was FABULOUS as were the cupcakes. GREAT GF option!! And they are starting mail/internet order service soon! Also, the items with spelt were clearly labeled and they verified with the manager when I asked, so there were no worries that I was getting something not truly GF.

I DREAM ABOUT THIS STUFF. Ok, I'm a huge sweeteater. I've done the rounds, Magnolia, Cupcake Cafe, Billy's, but I LOVE this place. I don't feel gross after I eat the sweets, which is what I'm accustomed to. And for being a "healthy" treat, these goods are DELICIOUS!!

The cupcakes win my vote for best baked goods. Ugly but delicious.
