“Not only is Country located in a beautiful building with mosaics, but also it serves amazingly fresh and tasty foods.”
“Not being a huge fan of prix-fixe menus, I indulged in the Spring Tasting menu, which, before we received what was actually ordered, a few amuse bouches that challenged our gourmandizing bellies arrived.”
“These little things differentiate from the great restaurant to just another good restarant.”
“Overall the food remains great - I really enjoy it and it is spot on every time, but the service is enough to make me not go back.”
“But food was good, but service is someting that needs huge improvements.”

“We just spent a long weekend at the hotel and the champagne bar was a fantastic serendipitous add-on.”
Nice atmosphere, food needs improvement. Went here with friends this weekend for brunch. I used to enjoy this place quite a bit, but really feel like it has gone down hill lately. The brunch was mediocre. I got the eggs with salmon and hollandaise on a jalapeno biscuit. The biscuit was rock hard and the sauce wasnt as good as I remembered. I'm disappointed because this place used to be on top of it's game. The service was a bit slow as well. Definitely not worth the money. I have had much, much better brunches in the area. I doubt we will go back.
Like a European bistro. Country Cafe could not have been better. Was one of the first to arrive and within 20 minutes the restaurant was packed. The prices are reasonable and the food was delicious, especially the mushroom casserole. You feel like you are in a little bistro somewhere in Europe. Everyone was so welcoming and nice, and the service is attentive but not overbearing. The waitress was very helpful in making recommendations. I can't wait to go back.
LOVED IT!. I am typically a hard one to please and I had to log on and share what a great time I had! Would highly recommend them. Food was excellent... very attentive staff!
Wow. The upstairs dining room has a fixed price menu in the most elegant setting. Several selections for each course offered good variey. Great service. Food presentation was lovely. Downstairs bar was casual and noisy. Upstairs champagne bar was much more quiet and inviting. Expensive - perhaps not unexpected in NYC.
Great all around. My experience at Country was great! The staff was friendly, our food came out very fast and all of the meals ordered at the table tasted outstanding ( I tried them all!) Definately a great place to go on a date or with friends. Highly recommend.
Wondeful!. Not only is Country located in a beautiful building with mosaics, but also it serves amazingly fresh and tasty foods. The menu is fresh and changes with the seasons. Amaziingg!!! You will definintely feel satisfied when you leave Country.
Not worth it.... I had weekend brunch at the cafe. My husband and I both thought that the food was below average, and overpriced. The chicken soup and macaroni were just too salty that we had a hard time finishing the meal. There was nothing special about the meal. I was very disappointed.
Excellent all around. I have always loved Geoffrey Zakarian's restaurant Town and Country is no different. The Cafe has a more casual feel, is gorgeously decorated and the upstairs is elegant and refined. The food and drinks were great and I would especially recommend the striped bass because it was to die for. While I am normally not a huge eater I ate every course and loved them all. Country is definately a great dining experience.
Great Food!. This was my first experience at Country and I absolutely loved it! I will definitely go back! The atmosphere, food and the service were all outstanding. I highly recommend having the Morel Mushrooms and the Chocolate Beignets for dessert!
Service Could Hardly be Worse. Dined here on Saturday. We arrived early for our 8:15 res, let them know we were there, sat at the bar close to the hotel lobby, and when ready we were assured there were plenty of tables. We were brought to the hostess station who then told us we would have to wait unitl they cleared our table. We were left standing in the crowded entrance. Why not let us wait in the bar, seated and comfortable and let us know when the table was ready? Why tell us it was no problem? Attitude at the front desk is deplorable. Hostess was haughty and acted inconvenienced when we wanted to check our coats. She brought us to our table, mumbled something about specials and then slapped menus on the table and walked away. At our table my husband's chair was bumped by no fewer than 3 employees until we finally asked to move. That took about 15 minutes. When we were finally brought to a new (better) table, it took another 10 minutes for our server to approach us. Food runners put food down roughly. Overall the food remains great - I really enjoy it and it is spot on every time, but the service is enough to make me not go back. This was the second time I've been there and it was just as bad the first time.
