Editorial Review for Blood Manor – by Katie Heffernan

In Short
The only way out of this creepy haunted house is a secret. Visitors must keep from getting too spooked or they might never escape the dark labyrinth of decrepit Victorian rooms, set with traps of decaying corpses, uncontrolled psychopaths and hungry creatures. Buy tickets online or at the door. Regular admission costs $25-$30, while some skip the line and get straight to the scare with $40-$45 R.I.P. tickets.

Insider Tips

Save Money

Buy tickets by phone ((877) 340-3002) or online in advance for $25, rather than $30 at the door, although a $3.50 service fee takes away some of the savings.

When to Go

The house opens Oct. 3, and then runs Thursday to Saturday through October. The last week of the month it's open from Tuesday to Sunday, in honor of the big day. Check out the website for more details.

Me and some co-workers went last night, and it was terrible. The line was long, the staff was rude, the rooms were crowded, they rushed people through very quickly. And worst of all, one of the Zombies made a very offensive ethnic remark to one of the people I was with. I strongly discourage going. Please save your money, and self-respect. Staff is extremely unprofessional. A real fly-by-night operation just to get your money.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Disgraceful

Went with three friends last night on 10/26/07. Would not recommend this attraction. The lines were very disorganized. We stood in rain for 25 minutes while the actors took a break at 10PM. They sent us in a freight elevator along with about 20 other people with no instructions. The elevator got stuck on the 4th floor, we pushed all the emergency buttons but no help. I called 911 and police came. The manager refused to give us our money back. They blamed us getting stuck on the elevator was not their fault but the building owners. We couldn't believe it! Finally, they gave us the price of the regular admission back even though we paid for RIP (VIP) tickets for $50 each. I am a 37 professional and would not recommend this attraction. It is clear that the managers and organizers are there to make a quick buck then close shop up. It is not safe.

Pros: We got our money back.

Cons: Life safety issues; mismanaged; overpriced.
