In Short – What began in Ibiza and blazed through 25 cities worldwide has finally surfaced in Manhattan. The four-floor maze of staircases--decked with palm trees, army-green tarp canopies and mosaic-mirror hand symbols to ward off evil--conjures a mystical temple in the tropics. Go-go girls in bikinis grind against each other in steamy red-lit showers, while clubbers get carnal beside a shattering sound system that blares beats from top international DJs--including part-owner Erick Morillo.

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
The sprawling club has reserved tables just about everywhere--in dance floor-side boxes and on the overlooking mezzanine, in the shower-side lounge and tucked into less visible corners.
Look Good:
Finagle your way into Pachita, the exclusive lounge and dance floor on the top level--though only select VIPs with the club's "passport" card are guaranteed access. The secret staircase leading up to Pachita is hidden behind the go-go shower lounge on the third floor.
ambiance

  1. had so much fun with my friends, place is huge, i got lost practically.
  2. We spent a little while in the basement before we went to the main room and both had fun music and great dancers.
  3. The 3 Level on the top was pretty nice on cozy, but here the DJ was too nervous and changed the songs very quickly.
  4. It was a nice decor, but when you let people in wearing anything it brings the aesthetics down.
  5. Worst club have ever been too - Dark location and Staff very very rude!
  6. This place is good for people who want to have fun.
  7. Everyone was friendly, attractive and fun.
  8. pretty good club, fun for people who like house
  9. The massiveness of this club is pretty fun to run around in, and I guess so is its sublime tackiness, but that is its essence: fantastically tacky.
drinks
52.940001487731934% positive
  1. However, I liked the service at the bar.
  2. The drinks were strong which was suprising since I am use to getting a water-downed overpriced mini drink at so many other places.
  3. Not a good way to be when the drinks are overpriced and the space is dirty and gross anyway.
  4. drinks are soooooo expensive!
  5. The drinks and service were very good.
  6. great drinks, good looking people
  7. The bartenders were quick with drinks and we met a lot of cool people.
  8. The prices are insanely high, we paid 30 dollars to get in and the drinks were uber expensive!
  9. Drinks were expensive ($10 for whiskey sour, $14 for long island iced tea) but this is NYC let's face it!
  10. The drinks were great and the music was excellent both our room and the main floor.
  11. plus i have a simple solution for the expensive prices: drink somewhere else beforehand.
  12. doors "should" open at 5pm where u are "supposed" to enjoy an open bar and buffet.
  13. Right from the start we loved it, music was nice and the more drinks we had it sounded even better.
  14. On the other hand - the drinks were good.
  15. understand not letting the water in as I guess we are supposed to buy the overpriced water inside, but how dare he can dictate what I will drink before I get in.
  16. Only downside for me was that it played house all night on every floor and that the drinks were being served in warm glasses that I guess jus got washed?
  17. Pacha is not a NICE club/bar scene at all.

  1. agree with the previous reviewer - its only a good place to go if you like house music.
  2. What a great place to end your night (morning).
  3. This club seemed like a good place to go to hook up and have a good night, but beware: The guy to girl ratio is not equal at all.
  4. Seriously sick sound system, Highs and Lows, great beat & music, & very screened crowd makes this spot the place to bring your out of town friends & get a taste of NY club scene at it's best!
  5. If you love house music and its best djs, this is the place for you.
  6. great place with great music, but the coat check is really nasty and no customere service skills at ALL( she was yeling at me )
  7. the place in general is a good place to be.
  8. When there is a party on Thursdays after work it's a great place to go.
  9. This is a great place to listen to great DJs spin bangin house.

  2. Everyone was friendly, attractive and fun.
  3. saturday nights usually the best night more people, big dj, go early, long line starts at 2 i'd say
  4. They invested in a good sound system and have booked quality people there.
  5. great place with great music, but the coat check is really nasty and no customere service skills at ALL( she was yeling at me )
  6. The staff is great, the door guys are really nice - especially Alex!
  7. They really need to learn how to speak to people, terrible customer service ever at a coat check.
  8. Worst club have ever been too - Dark location and Staff very very rude!
  9. ...for the "great" service that they provide.
  10. The staff were friendly and HOT!
  11. Great club, great dj's, friendly bartenders, but Pacha security is horrible
  12. Horrible place, service is incredibly awful for NYC.
  13. Drinks are expensive but the bartenders are nice.
  14. The bartenders were quick with drinks and we met a lot of cool people.
  15. The music was awesome and we met some cool people.
  16. did not say anything since most of my friends already got in and also it is known that people at the doors of this kind of clubs tend to enjoy their "oh so important power of letting people in" little too much.
  17. The service was great, although the bouncers are not the most cooperative at times, but they have good management to handle those situations.
  18. Once of the too-friendly bouncers in the club told me that there's another room downstairs with hip hop- i didn't see it because he was referring to the coat check room which had weird music coming out of the speakers.
  19. The drinks and service were very good.
  20. The bouncers are friendly, and not mean as they are at other NYC establishments.
  21. This place is good for people who want to have fun.
  22. However, I liked the service at the bar.

  33. It was a nice decor, but when you let people in wearing anything it brings the aesthetics down.
  34. There are always a lot of people, the music is great to mov.
  35. It's grat place and the music was good and every body there workers and people were very friendly.

Worst Club In NYC

by breaker at Citysearch

Had VIP Table service, except no service. Only saw our waitress once over 5 hours. The bar back did all the work. Management was awful and they apparently never talked to our waitress after we worked out the situation with 2 of them. Way overcrowded. They blocked access to the floors at times. We were on the top floor, went downstairs and were not allowed back to top floor where we had paid for a table, but we snuck by the dumb bouncers and got up there after all.

I DO NOT recommend.

Was Assaulted, Their Security did NOTHING!

by JB10304 at Citysearch

I was Assaulted on Halloween of this year, by two other patrons and when I went to report it to their security, they did nothing, they did not give any effort to find them, the two guys were not even wearing Masks, and I gave great description of the Perps and what costumes they were wearing. I was punched several times by two of them and I received several bruises and a broken tooth as well as lost a TapOUT shoe and Bad BOY cap, by trying to run away from them. I was not able to defend myself because there were two of them, and they were much bigger than me. While I was getting hit several times, I ran to the Bar to seek help and even the Bar Maid did not even help, as I was screaming for help. Finally, when I got to the Security outside,in back of the club; because none of them were there when I was getting assaulted on the dance floor or near the bar, they finally attended to me.

When I requested the security to call the cops they did not, they claimed they will handle it, and I requested several times to call them and they did not call them, I was however seen by their EMT person, (given a Band-Aid and some ICE, "Big Whop" although he was Very Helpful and Attentive, "they should have called an Ambulance", but after that , the security people encouraged me to go home because they just did not want to help me, or do any effort to find them. There answer was "It is a Crazy Night" I wanted to say "That's Your Answer for trying to find them? REALLY? Unbelievable! I now have a Scar above my nose and I had to get an Extensive Root Canal and a Crown for my front tooth, I am very upset by this!

When I went back to the club later that night (4:30 AM, because I heard they are open till 7 AM), to speak to the one of the managers, of which did not help, to ask if they found my hat and shoe, (Lost & Found Dept) and to see the status of my complaint , they were closing, one of their junior security people said in a SARCASTIC Manner, "We did not find a TapOUT shoe, Your HAT or a Broken Tooth" When I spoke with a Police Officer the next day to file a complaint, they claimed that This Club is known for drugs and other types of misbehavings and that "they" (CLUB) do not like when We go there because there is always problems. When I went to Community Board 4 to see if there are complaints about them, I had found various articles and complaints on file about this club, including the New York Post Online Edition. The hotel I stayed at said "That club is known for problems" and when I ran into another patron at the hotel who over heard my conversation He said the Friday before, there were several fights and problems. When I tell people what happened, to me, their response is " What do you expect, many people are high on drugs there, it is known for drugs and problems."This club is "Today's" SoundFactory; (Ironically same location) & Limelight which was known for drugs and problems that closed them down!

All in ALL, I LIKED going there, music was great, DJ''S were great, Until I was Assaulted!

Could be better

by rachsmith at Citysearch

Went there last weekend. The balcony area was nice, you could see people dancing from up there.

The dancing area was pretty crowded, but fun. The small area downstairs wasn't any fun. The toilets are in the middle of a dancing crowd. Not very convenient. The dancing hall downstairs should be bigger.
