Barely acceptable for a chain restaurant. I had the mussels, endive salad, salmon on a cedar plank, and cheesecake. I also had a bite of the crusted sole and chocolate velvet cake.

THE BAD: I know it?s a fish restaurant and steakhouse, but does it really have to smell like the seafood section of the supermarket? The mussels were chewy and the wine broth tasted like it was scooped out of the Atlantic. The salmon was flavorless and completely under seasoned. (That must be why they keep salt & pepper on the table.)

THE GOOD: The endive salad was tasty and both desserts were good for pre-packaged, thawed cakes. The service was attentive although our waiter seemed to compliment everything we ordered.

SUMMARY: Two meals with one drink each cost $92.00 plus tip.

the waiter seemed frazzled. The raw oysters were fresh. I had the green salad which was very tasty. The argula basil salad was good too, but too nutty tasty for me that night. My family had no real complaints about the other dishes. But our waiter seemed frazzled & didn't pay much attention to us. He may have been new. Otherwise, the food was decent & the prices were decent too for Midtown Manhattan.

Three disasters: overcooked linguine, stiff fettucine, and tasteless tilapia. I'm a big fan of seafood, but something about this place did not smell fresh. I had been here once before, but just had a salad. This time I went with my family and all of our dishes were way under par. The fettucine came out already covered in "fresh parmesan" which I thought was suspicious. After poking around with my fork, I noticed that most of the noodles were stuck together and extremely stiff. I had a bite and it tasted like it had been sitting out for the past four hours. It was cold and overly salty. I had a feeling that someone had ordered the very same dish earlier, but had sent it back to the kitchen, which is what I ended up doing.

Eh.. My friend Suzie said that she went there and the food was just ok. She had the crab cakes and I had the cheeseburger. She also did not enjoy the waiter, though she did enjoy the free refills on our diet cokes. Overall, it was just an average Friday afternoon lunch. Next up, Red Lobster!

Great service, good food and very spacious. This past Tuesday was the first time I had ever been to a McCormick's. I arrived quite early and to my surprise there was a 1.96 special on the bar menu until 6:30 PM. Many of the small plate entrees were on this menu (quesadillas, spinach nachos, and even a cheeseburger) but there weren't really any drink specials. When my entire party arrived, we were sitted and our server was very polite and attentive. The calamaria was very good - not overly fried, but not really raw. My seafood entree was a mix of 1/2 a lobster, clams, mussels and squid in a red tomato broth. It was amazing and to top off the evening - the dessert selection was to die for! If you are a seafood fan and dont mind paying for good food - this place is it.

Great seafood, great service, great restaurant. I went to McCormick & Schmick's for dinner with a colleague after work. We were greeted warmly at the door and promptly seated. The place is nicely decorated, quite dimly lit, was really busy and had a real buzz in the atmosphere.

The waitress was really helpful and began by running through the various things on the menu and giving her opinion. I chose the Monkfish, was was absolutely delicious. The portions were not big, but they were just enough to fill you without leaving you feeling stuffed. It was a great meal, in a great setting, with great service.

Highly recommended (unless you don't like seafood!)

GREAT FOOD, SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE; NO CONS. We stay at the Hilton and have walked by this restaurant many times, but never stopped to have dinner. We ate there this past Tuesday because the restaurant was on the way to the theatre and we were running late. The food, the service and the atmosphere was fantastic. The shrimp, scallops and steak were out of this world. Best meal in NYC in years. In fact it was so good, we went back on Wednesday. On our next visit, McCormick & Schmick's will be first on our list.

Happy Oytsers. Last Thursday I was invited to the patio opening at McCormick and Schmick. I had

a wonderful time eating some of the best and freshest seafood and coldest draft

beer in NYC. I love the great happy hour they do there. Bring your appietite and

don't worry about when the check comes, because the oysters, brie, mussels and beer are half price. WOO HOO!!!

User review by johncourtney. We went there looking for what the restuarant used to be but found that it had changed to this about 2 years ago and thought lets give it a try and we was not disappointed. Food was fantastic (providing you like fish!!) service first class and the restuarant had a great ambience. Great value for money too at $125 for the two of us!!! I will definitely go again when im next in New York. Couldnt recommend it enough!
