Editorial Review for Nikki Midtown – by Angela Gaimari
The Scene
New York's version of this chic international club chain is a swept-up, breathtaking space, somewhere between heaven and a harem. The sweeping main room luxuriates in countless pure white pillows, hanging feathery white angel wings, bamboo posts, and almost-Polynesian carved pale wood tables dashed with white votives. Providing shocks of color are vivid orchid centerpieces, a slowly-rotating opalescent spotlight and, most noticeably, the mod servers in white go-go boots and turquoise mini dresses with naughty circle cutouts in front, rendering bra-wear impossible.
The Draw
Head upstairs to lounge full-on in one of the cabana cabin cubbyholes containing beds and pillows. From a long window by the second-story bar, there's a bird's-eye view of the downstairs main room. Though there's no dance floor per se, patrons catching the glamorous Cabo vibe that Nikki's is providing have been known to hop up on the tables and shimmy to the mellow Euro house music.

Insider Tips
What to DrinkThe sugar-rimmed, cherry-topped Nikki's Delight--with vanilla vodka, blue Curacao, peach liqueur and Puckers--may sound like a too-sweet alcoholic ambrosia, but the sugar rush and tropical-candy flavor are enjoyable.
Look GoodThere are other Nikki's in St. Tropez, South Beach, Sardinia and Marrakech, so replicate the tycoon/heiress fresh-off-the-yacht look for best results.

I had very low expectations for this place this past Saturday night. Although I was on the mark that there would be a lot of foreigners/tourists, I overall had a good time. Got in no problem (a bit after 11 pm), no cover charge, the ambience was nice, the bartenders were friendly, the drinks are same price where you get at any other decent lounge/club, and the music was shockingly good. I don't really like house/techno/electronica/whatever you call it but it was good!! I'm usually a hop hop only person but the music they played had good, danceable beat. And there was this chick who played the VIOLIN to the music, and made it even hotter. I don't know how she did it, if she was there just for that one night, or whatever, but it was pretty impressive. I enjoyed it, it's a fun place if u just wanna go hang out with a group of friends. I wouldn't count on meeting people here though. The crowd seemed very international, not that that's bad, but depends what you are looking for.
Pros: music was good, ambience is nice
Cons: seems touristy
