“believe (and it seems that most everyone else has similar thoughts) that Nikki Beach is done and their Nikki Midtown location seems to be a good indicator of this downward spiral.”
“The venue is fantastic - one of the best bar/lounge venues youll find in the city no question.”
“Although the drinks are pricey, the waitstaff is friendly and the food is delicious (especially the calamari with the side salad).”
“had gone to Nikki beach a few times and thought it would be a great place to throw my 25th birthday party on a Saturday night.”
“Example would be if you went shopping and found the perfect outfit, but it took you two hours to pay for it, would you go back to that store?”
“Before I could even order a drink I was harassed by staff and bouncers.”
“Got in no problem (a bit after 11 pm), no cover charge, the ambience was nice, the bartenders were friendly, the drinks are same price where you get at any other decent lounge/club, and the music was shockingly good.”
“The rest of us were crammed together and forced to listen to some sort of slow style hip hop that had a lot us yawning.”
ROCKIN' JAMMIN' SCENE can't wait to hit it again.
Girls and Guys dancing on the tables, drinks and bottles flowing, music that stayed with us after we left, and a great mix of all shapes, sizes and styles, with one thing in common; having fun. Loved that it didn't look or feel like the cookie cutter 'just left wall street... 'I'm too cool for you' crowd. Unlike other places, there's places to sit when you have to without buying a table. The main room was bouncing but even the bar area was alive.
Positives: DJ (Raffael DeLuca), service, table dancing, setting and atmosphere
Negatives: main room a little small and you might spend more money than you want because you are having such a great time and won't leave!!
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!! very cool vibe and will go back. Read the negative reviews and not sure we wanted to go ....but heard from people I trust that the scene was cool... made the people who wrote bad reviews look just plain cranky! (or they went on a bad night, but thankfully not there when we were there!) Went on a Saturday night, food was good (admittedly not great), the service was really GREAT, the manager was attentive, LOVED the furniture and decor... felt like the beach!.. and the music was AWESOME! (props to DJ Raffael aka RDL) Everyone was dancing all night... drinking and partying like mad. Saw lots of fireworks with the bottles going to tables. Great mixed crowd. The bouncers were cool and jiving to the beat. Could be the DJ was really good and/or the crowd was having fun, not causing problems for the bouncers. Loved it and will definitely go back.
Horrible Bouncers! THEY SHOULD JUST CLOSE!!.
The service is crap
The bouncers are all uneducated, and obviously have a stick up their ass.
They don't know how to deal with people AT ALL!!
All they want to do is argue with everyone to perhaps feel like they're doing something.
They are ALL sexist and racist!
The furniture is in horrible shape.
The 'runway' is just calling out for someone to sue the owner.
It's small and SO not worth waiting in line for!!
Very snobbish service, very rude security. Overcharged us. The service was TERRIBLE and the security men which were all over the place were bothering us the entire time we were there. The idea I think was the make their patrons feel small and controlled. We did not leave a tip because they did not let us use the table for more than an hour (we paid $800) and the service was terrible, but they added $150 to the credit card anyway. The furniture had wholes in it. The music was so so. The lines are not worth the wait.
NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. I have never been treated so badly at a NYC venue. I had table service set up and about 60 people coming for my party. I got in contact with the manager and was told that there wouldnt be any issues and we would get our table as soon as we got there. When we got to the door there was a huge line and we were told that they were only letting in 4 ppl at a time and that "paying customers" were getting in first. When I told him I was bringing him 60 paying customers he blew up and told me he didn't want my business anymore. And then told the bouncer to not let me in. All 60 people had to leave. We went Turtle Bay a few blocks away and had a blast. I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to nikki beach after being treated so direspectfully. And sorry Jay you just lost out on a lot of great business.
RACIST BOUNCERS!!!!.
I'm not the type of person that would actually write a bad review. If I have nothing good to say I would not. But this place was beyond bad.
My bf, a friend and I went to Nikki Midtown for a friend's going away party. We waited on line for a good 15 mins and when we got to the door, the bouncer decided to let this girl behind us go in first. Then the bouncer looked at us and told us to wait a few more mins. After a few more mins, he turns to us and said that the only way for us to get in is to purchase bottle service which the lowest is $400! But he didn't demand bottle service for the previous people. At first I didn't get it or realize it until I noticed that 98% of the people were Caucasians.
The bouncer was obviously racist.
A lot of my friends always ask me what lounges and places to go to and I always love exploring new spots. BUT NOW I KNOW I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND NIKKI MIDTOWN TO ANYONE!
this place is horrible!!! We only wanted to go see our friend before she leaves NY permanently.
DO NOT GO!!! RACIST BOUNCER W/ BAD STYLE!!!
Racist, sexist bouncers. the staff is the most racist group of people I have ever encountered in my life. After over-priced watered down drink, the bouncers rudely grabbed mine rear-end while telling my boyfriend that he had to leave for throwing something at another guest. Ridiculous. I hope you chose to avoid this place as the guys here obviously have some serous issues to work out.
Always Rockin!. After a few years, Nikki Midtown still keeps the party going! While the bouncers are tough, they know how to run a place. The crowd is respectful, well-dressed and knows how to have a good time. Get there a little early and enjoy dinner that rolls into the night. There food is very good! Great place to have corporate and private parties there as well as I have in the past. Looking forward to a return visit!
Awful Service & Utmost Disrespect.
I visited here recently. It was not my first time. The other times were pleasant, fun, good crowd. The bouncers are RUDE and the guy letting you in...worse! I had a friend with a table already inside and we had to talk our way in. We had two others joining us within the next 15 minutes and they would NOT let them in!!! I honestly think they were just plain old prejudice. The only way in was to tip the door guy or order a $500 bottle service for a group of 5 girls. I will not attempt to go back here anymore....who wants to have a good time with a bunch of stuck up people who don't know how to talk to you with respect. I think I could have gotten better treatment at the drive through window at mcdonalds.
The bouncer mistreated us and then there was this wasted lady who took all our sweaters and threw them in the air and on the floor and the bouncer yells at us!!! If you are on this site claiming you had great service...please take a look at your race and status.
Horrible.
I used to like Nikki Beach.
Recently I was there for a Cornell event and was not allowed access to the area that was reserved for our party. The manager let several other WHITE men through and when asked he ignored my requests to enter our own party. Finally, he asked the bouncer to have me leave.
I cant believe that New York City has such people. An uneducated bouncer manager asking a medical doctor to leave. I would never go back to this place.
