Ninja New York
Owner
Welcome to the new Tribeca Japanese theme restaurant based on the partly fictional story of ninja history. The space is dramatic and incredible. There's no dining room -- instead, follow a dark and labyrinthine path manned by wait staff in full-on ninja garb to your table, housed in a private dojo, where you'll choose from tasting menus featuring dishes like cream-cheese tofu, monkfish liver salad or sushi with caviar. There is a la carte menu too for the lease daring. Reservations a must!

In Short
There are no servers at this Tribeca restaurant, only ninjas who guide diners through a series of twists and turns, across a drawbridge, and, finally, to a cave-like table. As at its sister restaurant in Japan, ninjas deliver food that performs tricks like bellowing smoke--and have a few up their sleeves, as well. Though an a la cart menu is available, most diners opt for chef Michinobu Okamoto's tasting menu. There's also a sushi menu.

went there for my b-day and loved atmostphere-- which gave us a good privacy. Even though there were kids' b-day parties going on we didn't get too bothered since we had our own private booth. Their hospitality was great and food was pretty good but pricey. If you are up for an adventure before your meal, or if you want some good quite privacy, this is the place to go!

Ok, I made a reservation for this place a MONTH in adavance, received 2 confirmation calls, and made one the day before my party. I had no idea these people were so incompetent. Needless to say i ended up with 12 people without a table. and to top it off the manager was an idiot and had absolutley no idea what to do... we ate in LES for alot cheaper and had alot more fun. PASS ON NINJA!!!!

So for my 30th Bday my wife took me to a suprise dinner at Ninja. Let me say that I really had a wonderful time. Food excellent! Entertainment excellent! Random attacks by roving ninjas...PRICELESS. If you can have two brushes with certain death at one dinner and live to blog about it then how could anyone complain. When I asked for the Ninja star (chocolate souflee) for desert I would never had suspected that a real ninja star would be thrown at me. I guess the first attack didn't finish me off so another ninja attempted to land the "ninja snuff" bka "touch of death" on me. Fortunately I have fast reflexes or my review of this restaurant would've have been far less favorable. All jokes aside though, I think when you're considering ninja as a dinner destination keep in mind that this is a "theme" restaurant. Take the stick out your you know what and have a good time!!!
