My husband and I booked appointments with Dr. Marjan Kermanshah on ZocDoc. When we showed up they had some other dentist work on my husband without telling him. (I cancelled because she couldn't see me.) Turns out he graduated from some crummy college in New Jersey. They gave my husband an unnecessary X-ray. No cavities or symptoms and he had an X-ray a year ago. The American Dental Association say that dentists are supposed to give X-rays no more than once per three years, and only if there are symptoms. This doctor went against the ADA's recommendations and risked my husband's brain's health (dental X-rays have been proven to cause brain tumors) to get more insurance money. They also tried to sell me on a mouth guard that he didn't need because he doesn't grind his teeth. Greedy and unethical.

Affordable and Wonderful Caring Dentist!. Dr. Kermanshah made my day. This is unbelievable how a routine and potentially painful experience can turn into an exciting venue and journey. Dr. Kermanshah is my best friend now after 10 or 15 visits to change my teeth, my smile, my style and my life! I'm so grateful to her that I recommend her to all my friends and relatives. She will accept you even in case of emergency and she is fully booked. She will see you even at 6pm on Friday! Amazing dentist.

The Best Dentist!. Dr Kermanshah and her staff are awesome! Everyone is super personable and helpful. They make you feel like family when you are there! Best of all, they don't try to sell you on un-necessary procedures or use scare tactics like some of the other dental offices. Honest and dependable, Dr. Kermanshah is one of the best dentist I have ever been to! I have referred my girlfriend and my brother to her. Highly recommended!

Do Not Go to Star Dental Smiles!. Please, please - if you love your teeth, do not go to this pracice!

My husband and I went to see Dr. Marjan Kermanshah. The office staff was nice but we were wondering why we were the only one in the waiting room. We waited for about 20min even though no other patient was present.

Then Dr. Marjan Kermanshah finally saw both my husband and me. She kept pushing us both to get our teeth whitened asap. Since we did not agree to that, she insisted that we get braces. hello??? We did not come for either one, we just wanted a regular check-up. I think she was disappointed that she could not make any money off of us and told us both (!) that we have 3 cavities. Seriously? I have not had a problem with my teeth for about 20 years and all of a sudden I have 3 cavities? We went to another dentist that was recommended to us by some friends and it turns out - nothins wrong with our teeth! No cavity, no nothing!

This visit was absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe that some "doctor" would make up a condition just to make money off of their patients.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY REASON!. Unfortunately my experience at East Side Smile Solutions was AWFUL. On more than one occasion I showed up for an appointment that had been confirmed a day earlier and the office was closed, lights were off and door was locked. On other occasions my doctor called out and I got there and no one had bothered to call me. I had ZOOM whitening done there as well and Dr. Gorovich burnt my face and gums so bad that I had to report them to the ZOOM company and to the appropriate business agencies. Every time I called to office the receptionist told me 'this was normal' and it took over 3 days before the doctor even called me back, and this is after I sent photos of my blisteres face and mouth to the office. The ZOOM people said that this was in NO WAY NORMAL and were very glad I reported it to them. The office is STILL requesting that I pay for this treatment after they blistered and burnt my face and mouth!

Finally I had a root canal proceedure done and they never finished it. I went in forwhat I was told was the last proceedure and AGAIN Dr. GOrovich was not there and the doctor that was on had NO IDEA What I was talking about when I told them what I was in for, and had no record of the proceedure that I was suppose to have to cap off the root canal. I walked out never to return. A year of bad service, I should have learned my lesson after the first time they screwed up. This is all true, I am a former patient and you are welcome to contact me!

New Year Resolution. Now that I am a patient at East Side Smile Solutions instead of dreading going to the Dentist I almost look forward to it. The staff is professional and friendly. They make me feel at home and right from the start I feel that I will have a pleasant experience. During all procedures I have had done, my comfort has been a main concern. Now without pain I feel that my teeth are being taken care of by the best.

The best dental office in the upper east side. Over the last couple years, I have been a patient of Dr. John Purpura who was managing dental practices in Brooklyn and Virgin Islands. I did not have a chance to sit on a dental chair in St. John but made frequent trips from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Recently, he opened an office in Upper East Side and already has been acknowledged as a dental master of the neighborhood. I welcome him and his professional staff and recommend everyone to use his service.
