Editorial Review. Once a restaurant of the same name, now it's the booze, DJs and weekly parties that draw a crowd to this downtown lounge.
Cool Spot.
I went on a Friday night had fun.
Hip Hop and R&B, pleeeeeeenty of hot guys, tables for bottle service , but the dance floor was packed. I almost forgot the most important part.....they have free parking!!!
Nice spot to start or end with.
Friday Night Chill Out. Great spot to end up at on a lonely Friday night... You'll find other lonely hip NY'rs nodding their head to the same beats. Don't know about the food... didn't eat that night. Drinks were good and tasty. Must check out.
Novo Mach 2???.
Soo,I ve been here twice before and thought the food was good enough to come back a thrid time,BUT to my suprise they switched the place around! NO MORE restuarant!Boo Hoo to that.Anyway THEY DO Have a bar menu that is like nothing Ive ever tasted before.First things first Their calamari is like a gift from the Heavens!
Fried and Tossed with a peppery honey glaze.I could eat it for days if it didnt go striaght to my waistline! This goes perfect with their sangria.Appearently,They are now just a lounge/bar.Perfect little hideaway for your freinds to get together and start the night!Even thou the restuarant will be missed They made their switch around without missing a beat!
Hair in food, Inattentive Slooooow Service, Unprofessional. Arrived for a birthday dinner of twelve guests. I understand a bit of a wait for large parties, but the waitress was MIA for additional bread, water and drink orders while we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When the food finally arrived my dish was incorrect-the server insisted I ordered that, asking if I moved places, etc. It was rude for him to keep insisting I didn't know what I was talking about. When the waitress admitted she thought I said snapper, not salmon, I told them I'd take the snapper because I don't want to wait any longer. All of the snapper dishes were not accompanied by the specified coconut rice and steamed vegetables that were listed on the menu... The waitress said the server was supposed to tell us. Although she took our order... While eating the mashed potatoes (that were not supposed to be part of the snapper dish) I felt a HAIR in the potatoes. I tried to pull it out, but it was twisted around the potatoes! So gross! Believe me, it wasn't mine! I called the owner over and explained the sequence of events. He offered a 20% discount on our meals, but I needed to add, we're also not paying for that dish. On a positive note, I will say the few appetizers we had were good, but I lost my appetite and couldn't eat anything else and left disgusted and hungry!
Yummy Sangria. We went to novo last weekend and i have to say that this is a very good, inexpensive restaurant. The appetizers were great, main course was delish and strawberry sangria was yummy. We were seated right away, the food came out pretty quicky. It was not loud, the service was great.
Gorgeous little tapas bar!!.
This is my first review about a place so excuse me if i come off a little typical.I recently went this beutiful establishment and found it to be amazing!!Great food, alluring vibe, good music, awesome sangria (try the melon one).If your ever looking to wine and dine someone this is the place!very intimate and personal staff
honestly,i hope this place doesnt become ridcolously trendy and packed all the time that would totally make it lose its appeal.Till next time!!
Cheers
Excellent food.. Skirt steak was delicious. Drinks out of this world. Its music contrast with the tones of the place. Great experience!!!
A trendy party vibe and tapas with a twist liven up this sleepy stretch of Hudson Square..
The Scene
Eclectic nightlifers, Latin food lovers, and curious neighborhood folks mingle in the railroad-style, wood- and stone-trimmed space. A tall communal table dominates the front room and a long bar stretches to the dining area garnished with an open kitchen and floral wall projections. The DJ's pulsations become more prominent as the evening goes on.
The Food
Chef Alex Garcia adds his signature Nuevo Latino spin to a tasty tapas-oriented menu. Lobster chunks blend perfectly with the springy egg pie in the texturally triumphant tortilla Espanola; and mint, lime, cucumber and red pepper lend octopus seviche a tantalizing sweet, spicy, and cool kick. Selections of simply grilled meat and fish come with a choose-your-own-adventure trio of salsas--a zesty garlic pepper blend, a salty olive chimichurri and velvety manchego fondue. Cannelloni stuffed with ground pork and dressed with a brandy cream sauce particularly exemplifies the out-of-the-ordinary tastes found at this out-of-the-way place.
Must Ease in.... So my friends and I went to this place for dinner this weekend. The ad online said it was BYOB, but it turns out that its not. They did let us use our wine that we brought for a small cork fee (5 bux isnt bad). The menu was a little confusing at first, but the waitress explained it. So we took her recommendation and tried a little bit of everything. The food was pretty good. The only thing we really didnt like was the ceviche. I have had ceviche in the past, and this was not what I thought it would be. Other than that the pasta was really good (it was a seafood one with a name I cant pronounce). It was my friends birthday, and I was hoping I could get something from the dessert menu. I was a little upset when the waitress said they didnt have one just complimentary ones, but she was really sweet and made it with a candle....the bartender even gave us complimentary bday shots! so all in all, I guess I can say that at first I was a little skeptical, but in the end the night was pretty good. I'd go again.
