“The piadas are delicious, easy to eat and affordable.”
I will come back. I enjoyed the sandwich. I got a number 1 a delicious prosciutto and white cheese sandwich with some nice tasty greens inside. The owner told me to sit down and brought it to me at the table. The price was right, it was quick, and the quality of food was good. The only thing I dindt like was that the bread just seemed like a tortilla you would get from the market, maybe thats authentico and Im just a rookie.... anyway I will stop by next time im in the area.
Citysearch Editorial Profile. Fresh baked Italian flat bread sandwiches served warm, downtown.
THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THE FOOD.....
I've been at "PIADA" yesterday night for the first time, guys THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THE FOOD, and the place is nice, clean and small as a typical "Piadineria " in Italy on the east coast, but the Italian guy that ""served"" us was sooo rude, not a smile, or a "how are you guys?", nothing, he was just in front of the cash register taking our order, taking our money and that's it...
Almost forgot, you should to see how he talks to the poor mexican guy prepares the food.."do this ,do that etc etc", and while we were eating he always was in front of the cashregister as a dog protecting the money...and the poor mexican guy on the back looking the ceiling, probably waiting the end of his shift, not a word between them, not a joke, and i've been there for almost 30 minutes.
If he's really italian he should be more friendly with the customers, talking with them, make a smile, they have to feel themself as at home, not afraid to say or to do something...
That's my opinion, probably not everybody will agree with me..
best Clinton St lunch spot. One of my favorite finds in the city- I work down the street and I have lunch here almost every day. The piadas are delicious, easy to eat and affordable. I never spend over $10. The guys that run it are very nice, and I introdude friends to it whenever I can. My favorite is the "Amarcord" with prociutto, mozzarella and arugula.
Delicious and different. I work about 4 blocks away and always make this place a weekly treat for myself. The food is delicious and the people are friendly. I am hooked on the coffee and breakfast here. Well done
Italian snack shop offers more than 25 combinations of flat-bread sandwiches, including breakfast, veggie and sweet options..
In Short
The piada is something like a quesadilla, a round flat bread stuffed with meat and cheese and then grilled. This cafe in the Lower East Side is devoted to the Italian snack, which is a good thing as it's not big enough to do much else. Fellini movies get some love with the Amacord (prosciutto de Parma, mozzarella and arugula) and the Satyricon, (speck, brie and tomato), while regular customers get their own creations (pecorino cheese, salami and strawberry jam) immortalized on the menu.
Great Italian sandwiches. The sandwiches at Piada are really good. They serve the real Italian-style sandwiches. strong emphasis on fresh ingredients and preparation. The coffee is really good too. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or even a quick dinner.
Deliciously addidictive.
This place is the best thing to happen to Clinton Street. I love their sandwiches. They combine the
best meats and cheeses with their specially made bread. You could eat there,do take out or delivery.
The guys who work there are so friendly, they always great everyone with the warmest smiles. I could eat there every day.
Best Italian Sandwich in NY!!.
I had the best Italian Sandwich called Piada last week. I happened to find this small, cozy place in LES when I was walking around the area, and it turned out to be a great food experience.
On the staffs recommendation. I tried Amarcord, which was the typical piada with prosciutto di parma, mozzarella cheese and Arugla. It was really, really delicious! I was presently surprised. I like the fact that the bread was just made and ingredients are fresh. It is definitely the best deal.
I definitely go back to the place and want to try other piadas.
If you go to the LES area, go and try this new Italian sandwich. I think its a perfect place to stop for brunch, snack or even dinner!
