In Short – Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquière is one of the preeminent fashion designers in the world, juxtaposing geometric shapes with fanciful, billowy details. Inside the fashion house's boutique, peeling painted brick walls are offset by plastic, slanted walls, and foiled by painted faux rocks decorating the floor. Men's and women's tops, bottoms, jackets and dresses hang like bunches of fruit from sporadic racks, and the shoes and bags display is as naturally polished and unintrusive as the polite sales people.
