The Scene
The romantic restaurant and lounge is a fitting addition to its chic Flatiron neighborhood. Brick walls and two fireplaces generate a homey feel, but the maroon tablecloths, red melting candles, and couches in an upstairs loft ensure an evening-on-the-town atmosphere. Tables near the door remain largely unoccupied as small parties request the benches in back. And though unquestionably upbeat, house and hip-hop seem inconsistent with the amorous ambience.
The Food
Despite the upscale appearance, the menu offers casual fare like crisp brick-oven pizza--suitable as a shareable appetizer or individual entree. The straightforward waitress pushes dishes like the assiagi platter of cured meats and oil-drizzled cheeses while wrinkling her nose at the Key lime martini. For a more substantial meal, order the chicken stuffed with neatly layered spinach, portobello mushrooms and mozzarella. Then nibble on the white-chocolate mousse pie, which is light enough to induce only minimal guilt.

I don't know who keeps going on and writing bad reviews, must be the same person because I myself and lots of my friends have been to via on occasion and always have a good time. The food is excellent and the vibe of the place is real different. Not many places in NYC where you can go and get good food in a fun party atmoshpere. The staff is always real nice also. I would for sure recommend Via to anyone!!!

If you haven't noticed by the reviews, VIA is NOT the place to be! I went for a friend's Birthday and it was ruined by the Owner and his big ego and money hungry attitude. He was being selective at the door for what was a planned event. Only those who would shell out a few hundred bucks for bottles were allowed in. After numerous attempts to get the rest of the guests in, my friend took her party and left. There was no reasoning with him so PLEASE DON'T HAVE YOUR PARTY AT VIA or even a night out cause he deserves to be shut down. Even the promoter has dropped them after this incident. It seems that the owner should learn a thing or two about business and customer service before trying to re-open VIA under a different name.
Pros: It's the company you're with that makes a party so choose wisely, don't go to VIA
Cons: Everything about VIA is a CON, especially the Owner
