Beautiful space, bad cocktails. My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night. We were surprised by how tiny the space is! It is tastefully decorated both inside and outside. I think it's a great place for a date, but definitely not a place to meet other people. I would stay away from the cocktails on their menu. My friend and i tried 2 different cocktails and they tasted like shampoo ! yuck!! If you go there stick with your normal drinks (Tanq & tonic, etc.) The waitresses were polite and delivered our drinks quickly. Would consider go back here on a date.

A lovely den of thieves.. Yummy Drinks, pretty view. POOOOOOOR service. I was overcharged 362 dollars, it's been five days and they still haven't gotten it back to me!!!!! Drinkers beware!

Rooftop Chic. Even with the cold weather, Bookmarks is a great place to go to take off the edge after work. You can smoke outside, if you choose, and then come cuddle up by the fireplace. I was introduced to the bar by a private party and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. Then as I came back on my own, I appreciated more and more about the bar. The menu has a delicious variety of signature cocktails with literary names. My favorite is the Hemingway. I love to go on Tuesday nights because it's pretty quiet and the hilarious bartender is awfully cute. They also now get high end bar food delivered from the bistro downstairs, which adds an even better after work treat. Seriously, with good food, better drinks, awesome service & fantastic ambiance, this place can't be beat.

Nice Space, average service. Nice terrace view. $12 vodka-club's. Zero-personality bar waitresses. Nice for quick pre-dinner after work drink. Terrace gets full by 7pm.

Very Classy. I was just there this past Saturday evening and I have to say that I had a really nice time with my friends.

Loved the outside rooftop space. Drinks a little on the pricey side but it's Manhattan what do you expect.

Best thing I loved is that I am able to have my cocktail and my cigarette at the same time! It is so nice to be able to relax in a chic atmosphere.

Great place to go after work if you want to avoid a crowd or do not want to be "seen"

They make a killer martini!

Overall, I would have to say I was very pleased and definitely plan on returning in the future.

Fireside cocktails, club chairs and terrace views atop the Library Hotel.. In Short
This intimate, rooftop lounge--distinguished by a working fireplace and enhanced by dark wood walls, low lighting and comfy club chairs--attracts a neatly casual clientele that's more literary-minded than the typical hotel crowd. French doors open onto a slate terrace, inviting to small after-work groups with blue-cushioned U-shaped benches. In addition to wines, microbrews and specialty cocktails, the bar serves panini, olives and other snacks to keep the conversation flowing.

Private, intimate and low key. This is a wonderful bar in the GC area that's not overrun by the after work stalkers! A great place for meeting a certain somebody incognito, meeting a date or relaxing. The staff is friendly and don't rush you out. The outside is great when it's warm and the inside is actually bigger than you think. The only negative is that there is one bathroom that you have to go up a flight of stairs to get to and is not part of the bar at all.

Stepford Wives, Scary Staff.... My first two visits were comfy,if not a bit scary. The staff is overly, and somewhat aggressively attentive: I stood to look for the restroom, and was confronted and 'directed' up the stairs.

Aside from the beautiful setting and lovely fireplace, this place is hardly worth the high price of the syrupy drinks and rude, starchy service.

Be aware that the staff will enforce a mandatory 20% gratuity on 4 or more people.

For a hotel that charges so much for a room, you should expect more.

An Oasis. I just stumbled across this place after passing it every day on my way to work for 4 years. It is a GREAT spot. And as much as I wish them success, selfishly I hope it stays hidden.
