Editorial Review for Blue Donkey Bar – by Lori Fradkin

In Short
With blue paper lanterns dangling overhead and posters of Eeyore and Shrek's donkey friend adorning the walls, this uptown watering hole pulls in baby-faced and barely legal groups looking to break curfew. Enthusiastic bartenders fill frothy pitchers and serve up inexpensive drinks while hip-hop and R&B blast through the bar. Head to the frathouse back to take a stab at pool, air hockey and various video games.

Seems to have an interesting mix of people (for the UWS) and good music, but otherwise, this place is strange. Dirty. Tacky. There's a grill and oven behind the bar (???) When I visited, they were out of ALL THREE of my top liquor choices - Jim Beam, Jameson, and, yes, Jack Daniels. I went here to play BuckHunter in peace with a few friends, but think I will stick to Jake's from now on.

Uptown prepsters drink for less at this loud bar along the Amsterdam stretch.  See the full editorial review.
