“thought it was a good experience, fun place to hang.”
“Normally I would say a huge bar ain't my cup of tea, but this place is actually a collection of reasonable spaces I can feel safe in.”
“There is nothing good about this place.”
“Terrific atmosphere, awesome staff, good music, CHEAP drinks.”
“cool, huge bar”

Fontana's Bar. Fontana's is probably the largest bar in the Lower East Side. 3 bars and great rock & roll in the basement. What's not to like about that!?
Pretentious.
My friends and I showed up and the bouncer situation was a little ridiculous. We waited in two separate lines where we were told to "have your IDs ready for when I check them!!". After this line, we were directed to a second one. We told the bouncer we were here for a party and were not on the guest list, but he insisted on looking for each of our names. When he couldn't find our names (or perhaps convinced himself he had indeed found them?) he told the ladies to step up. A question of "well what about him? He's with us too!" was ignored. After the ladies "stepped up", he then told the gentleman to step up too. What suspense!
The kicker was that when we finally got inside the bar... there was no one there. It was pretty much empty, and I left after 20 minutes.
This bar was laughably lame.
bouncers are terrible. the lamest place ever. The bouncers are the rudest people I have ever met... do not go here. i repeat. do not!!!
does it get any worse?. There is nothing good about this place. The staff is rude, the bar is dark, there's ONE bathroom, the drinks are miserable. After the wait on line, I expected a lot more and was incredibly disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
DO NOT come here on a saturday night!. I guess it's standard knowledge to avoid the crowds on weekends in the city, but I was expecting a chill rock and roll bar, but instead I got the lame crowd whom probably didn't even realize the Ramones were playing they were so busy running into people wasted. Most of the crowd were guys in button down shirts and carbon copy party girls, but the biggest turn off was the incredibly rude bartender (he moaned and whined, audibly, when he had to get a beer for me after he got one for my friend- actually he had the other bartender get it for him bc he was too lazy to). Amazing music selection, but not appropriate for the crowd. Prob a cool place during the week, avoid on the weekends! All in all, was a shame.
Great Bar. This is a great spot. I had a going away party here with a large group of my friends. Terrific atmosphere, awesome staff, good music, CHEAP drinks... In short - this bar is the cat's pyjamas.
Something For Everyone. Just discovered this bar tonight and I only live a block away. Amazing artwork, great jukebox, cool atmosphere. This is the kind of place you'd want to go after work to just grab a drink or spend a whole night here with a group of friends. Lowkey bar area upfront, lounge in the back, pool table, live bands...what more can you ask for! This bar can suit any mood. Definitely the coolest bar I've been to so far in NYC. Get there...and soon!
the bar makes me want to go out more!!. I can't say enough good things about this place. The vibe is cool, the wait staff are great and the drinks just keep on flowing. I have been there twice and enjoyed myself both times. The pool room is the back is a great part of the place. But, the place is so big I am sure you will find the right spot. It can get very packed late night!
Three-part bar with a rockabilly vibe gives Lower East Siders some room to breathe..
In Short
Tall red booths set in storefront windows seem to cater to the see-and-be-seen crowd, but this oddly mixed, three-tier bar on a less-traveled stretch of Eldridge Street feels relatively removed from hipster hoopla. The rockabilly front room fades into a dolled-up rear with zebra-print furniture and a purply pool table. Just to keep weekend crowds guessing, the subterranean performance space, brightened up with tropical palm tree wallpaper and a third drink station, books local bands.
A cool, huge bar.
Just went to check this place out with some friends last night. Very impressed. The bar is beautiful and there's cool artwork everywhere. There's an upstairs 'loft' with a tables and a dj, and there's a downstairs private room for parties. All told there's so much space that they have three bars.
As great looking as the space is, the staff makes it even better! The bartenders are cool and friendly and the manager will sit down and chat with you too. Did I mention they are all hot? Check it out before it becomes impossible to get a seat.
Cool new bar!. Happily came across this new bar on Eldridge st. this weekend. It's a huge place with 3 levels yet somehow still has a cozy, warm atmosphere. It has a great upstairs balcony with couches and a downstairs music room for bands...should be starting music soon they said. Pool table, great drink makers...cool paintings...what else...projected movie on wall...would be great for a party, or like i did, just going in for a couple drinks. Check it out before it gets too crowded, cuz it probably will...
