ambiance
100.0% positive
  1. We had a nice chat, which to me says it's romantic!
  2. The owner was very nice and the raitan decor was nice.
  3. This cozy, but not cramped, little Pan-Asian Vegetarian restaurant is a real find.
  4. The ambience is both cozy and incredibly unique, with green moss on the exposed brick walls and window decorations made with exotic foods.
  5. Although I love eating at home (Spinach Rolls with Ponzu go great with Desperate Housewives), I've discovered it's worth a 10 minute walk from my place for the ambiance alone!
  6. The decor of the place is very beautiful and a nice relaxing place in the middle of the hectic crazy outside.

  1. Their ginger drink is awesome, in a gentle and soothing way.
  2. Homemade gingerale was good, but don't get the mango drink, not good at all(actually funny tasting) Service was excellent, so enjoy a vegetarian meal.

  3. was torn with so many delicious-sounding choices, but the sweet & sour sesame soy protein was fantastic - tasted, looked, and had the exact texture of sweet and sour chicken.
  4. General Tsao's "chicken" was, by far, the best meal at our table.
  5. Went to Wild Ginger for lunch this past weekend and it was quite simply the best vegetarian food I have ever had.
  6. The delicious, artfully prepared food is consistently excellent and dare I say, addictive, and the only time I ever remember it's healthy is when I'd rather chide myself for eating too much!
  7. go to the Wild Ginger on Broome for lunch a lot: it is affordable- you get an entire meal for a good price- it's very tasty- interesting- flavorful- vegetarian- healthy- and they actually bring the food pretty quickly.
  8. Seitan -- black pepper and also teriyaki are delicious.
  9. The food sizes portion were large enough to share, and everything ordered was delicious.

  16. had a tofu stirfry (rarely do those taste good) but Wild Ginger made it taste perfect.
  17. If you don't like spicy food, beware-- it has a MAJOR kick.

sweet little lunch spot

by vegmonky at Citysearch

I'm vegetarian so this was a fun little discovery. I came here with a friend during lunch and food was good. I wasn't amazed by it so I'm not dying to return for their dinner menu but it was good for lunch. It's a bit on the pricier side if you're used to spending less the $9 on your lunch but it's a nice treat once in a while. Service was prompt also, no complaints about that.

  • Pros: good quality food

Non inspiring veggie food

by acetrader at Citysearch

I don't know why everyone is giving 4 to 5 stars for this restaurant. The food is ok, non-inspiring, if sometimes a bit too greasy. I had the seitan in the brown sauce, deep fried mushrooms, and some soy cutlets also in the same brown sauce. Overall, quite a big disapointment after reading the reviews and going. In my opinion, I could have gotten much better Chinese vegetarian food at Buddha Bodai in China Town.

  • Pros: cheap, MSG goodness, very spicy & salty
  • Cons: dirty, no service, food uninspiring

Best Pan-Asian Vegan Vegetarian Restaurant in NYC

by NYCsamsam at Citysearch

The food is awesome & amazing. Highly recommanded. Especailly the drinks! Homemake Gingerale! Who would ever thought of a homemake drinks! The food sizes portion were large enough to share, and everything ordered was delicious. Then the music was way too loud. The whole time I could barely hear my friend. Strongly recommanded!

  • Pros: Food was excellent!
  • Cons: Music is way too loud!

WORST service in ALL of NYC

by HilaryOUS at Citysearch

Wild Ginger has been one of my favorite places to order from for the past 2 years. Unfortunately, the service has seriously deteriorated. The past 3 times I've ordered I received the incorrect items and am FALSELY promised a credit. On the last occasion more money was even charged after paying an additional amount for the wrong menu item. At this point I had to throw away the menus.

  • Cons: horrendous
