“must say, it was by far one of the best, if not the best crab cake I have ever tested.”
“Tacky art, so-so food, not a horrible experience, but beware: the overworked (thus slow, but not his fault) waiter announced tonight's special drink was sangria as well as reading two entree specials.”
“All I had intended was to order my food for take out and go.”
“Although the food was very good, not all items on the online menu was available and they dont carry all top shelf liquor.”

“The food, well, lets just say the service was extremely slow.”
5 Stars: I made a reservation for 2 for Saturday, June 30th at 5:00pm. My only regret was that I didn't get to see the evening Jazz performance; still had a GREAT time though! Angus, our maître-d, was responsive, warm and just a naturally pleasant person. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. For dinner, I had the shrimp, salmon, collard greens & garlic mashed potatoes. My boyfriend had hot wings, Creole chicken, yams & macaroni cheese. The food was DELICIOUS, tasty and inexpensive. We look forward to coming back.
Good Food Good Music Great Jazz Club.
When my friend invited me to a spot in East Harlem, I was a bit skeptical. He said it was a good time so I decided to join.
We got there and the place was pretty poppin. We got some food and drinks and short after some live jazz act began to play. They were really good and we were having a great time just chillin and listening to the music. After a few hours we were feeling good and the party really began. Everybody started dancing and the place was just one big party.
I don't really remember how the night ended, but a good time was for sure had by all. I checked my wallet and spent a lot less money than I would have if I went out in the LES or West Village or whatever.
This place is a great time and well worth the trip uptown.
PS. I learned that you should call to check out what is going on that night. One love..
BEWARE: watch your wallet!.
Tacky art, so-so food, not a horrible experience, but beware: the overworked (thus slow, but not his fault) waiter announced tonight's special drink was sangria as well as reading two entree specials. We ordered sangria and one of the specials. It turned out the prices for these were *WAY* out of line with everything else on the menu. $40 for a pitcher of sangria, and $30 for the fish entree! We were astounded. When prices of specials are this far out of line with the regular items, the waiter ought to tell you, otherwise it's underhanded.
In addition, the "music charge" was requested up front by the hostess, and then they tried to bill me for it again in the check. I left with the feeling that these guys were trying to take advantage of me. (Another reviewer said the tip was included, too, but mine wasn't)
Between the surprisingly high prices and the mediocre food, I would not recommend the place.
Great Laughs & Amazing Food. I was hungry and tired last Wednesday night and decided to try Creole Restaurant on 118th Street and 3rd Avenue. All I had intended was to order my food for take out and go. I felt so welcomed by the friendly staff and manager that I stayed. By the time my food arrived my mood was further lifted as I found myself hysterical over the comedian performer. After just one bite of my crab cake, I had forgotten all about him and was completely consumed by the incredible flavors exploding in my mouth. I must say, it was by far one of the best, if not the best crab cake I have ever tested. I will definitely be going back and will bring friends next time to share in the fun.
I'm crazy for Creole Restaurant!. SUPRISED! Have not seen any restaurant do so much with ambiance in such an inconspicuous location. The restaurant had a comfortable lounge feeling that my invited dining guests enjoyed - 10 of us. The service was very hospitable and who appeared to be the manager was on top of his game. Above the noise, it seemed that he could hear whispers and had the service help jumping to the beat of the guests. Everything was perfectly timed. It was one of those restaurants where I actually got above and beyond what I paid for. The value of the food, the location, and the libations far exceeded the cost of my evening. When dining, one must DEVOUR the mussels bruchetta, savor the honey bbq shrimp, murder for the shrimp roasted chicken and the salad dressings, I wanted to take some home to share with other friends and family. Creole Restaurant is my new kitchen and living room. I will be visiting regularly.
Good place for music/ maybe some food. A couple of friends and I met up for dinner at Creole to celebrate a birthday. The live music was nice but a bit loud if you're seated by the entrance. The food, well, lets just say the service was extremely slow. For appetizers I ordered crabakes which looked like they were stored in the back of the fridge for months and a friend ordered wings but got tiny pieces of chicken instead. They didn't have a drink menu and once again took extremely long to take our order. When the bill came it included a 20% tip which was way more $ the waitress deserved. The food was ok, appetizers not. Plan on visiting again, NO WAY.
Good food, but the menu is a mystery. Nice place for the area and was able to find parking. Black art on the walls gives it some class, but i didnt stay for the music. Few complaints: service was a little spotty; the waittress may have been new. Although the food was very good, not all items on the online menu was available and they dont carry all top shelf liquor. All in all a nice place; worth frequenting.
