In Short – Brick, cherry wood and mosaic-tiled floors instead of the usual blond wood and block prints is the first sign that this sushi stop isn't like the others. Locals love that there's neither long waits nor high prices for fish and fusion gems such as duck in orange soy glaze, uni risotto or pea pancakes with Parmesan. The loyal clientele's favorite signature rolls include seared toro tempura, and king crab with avocado, cucumber and yogurt mayo.
Editor's Tips
- Save Money:
- The bento box lunch special comes with three pieces of sushi, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and either beef, salmon or chicken teriyaki--a feast for $12.
- Where to Sit:
- Grab a table near the breezy French doors for a front-row view of Soho's shopping scene.

Better Than Blue Ribbon
by Toshi at Citysearch
I used to go to Blue Ribbon Sushi all the time when in the neighborhood but haven't been back once since Nagomi opened. This place is delicious, with top quality sushi and sashimi, and there's hardly ever a wait. The kitchen has some decent entrees too, but I pretty much stick to the sushi bar where they have interesting and excellent specials all the time. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Excellent sushi, charming staff, no wait.
Phenomenally fresh fish!!!!

I decided to have dinner here with my lover before going to the comedy cellar and we both had a great experience. We started off with a spicy sashimi appetizer (unbelievable) and then had the tuna katsu which almost made me 0rgasm. I mean melt in your mouth yummy deliciousness. I highly recommend both dishes! We also shared the spicy double roll and the spider roll which also were to die for. The miso soup, the edamame and the pinot noir were solid picks. I will definitely be returning very soon. I love sushi and this place definitely got it right!
- Pros: Sweet location and phenomenally fresh fish!
- Cons: None!

Perfection.
THE best restaurant meal/experience ever. The only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that It ruined me for sushi for months - others just cannot compare.

This is a great place to have sushi and walk around a neighborhood with so much to see. The sushi was fresh and the quality of the rolls and variety on the menu was top notch. My daughter especially enjoyed the sweet potato roll as it was served warm. Great neighborhood restaurant with good prices and delicious food.
Love this place!

I love this place! Great reasonable sushi, in a cool comfortable, non-pretentious environment. The neighborhood is fun to walk around in so I recommend this place to out of town guests. It is so far my favorite sushi place in New York. So many sushi restaurants try too hard to make cr
crazy rolls that don't make sense. I appreciate the fresh high quality fish that Nagomi serves.

Nagomi means being relaxed and friendly. The staff works hard to make sure the experience lives up to the name. Expect attentive service and suggestions from the skilled chef. Kampai!
