Great people honest. Very honest people, bought a watch from them and received it just as described.
Caution, do your diligence thoroughly.
I'd caution anyone thinking about buying a watch from MiT. A brief look at its reviews and overall score on Citysearch would indicate that this store is reputable, but I would urge you to read the negative reviews carefully and to question the authenticity of the positive reviews, i.e. weird distribution with all reviews either 5 stars or 1 star and basically nothing in between, and a general theme of focusing on the store owner's honesty and friendliness in the positive reviews (which from my recent experience I observed neither).
After paying a visit to MiT, I tried to pull up some other online research on MiT and found some negative feedback on WatchNet, which is a forum for watch enthusiasts. What I also discovered is that MiT is not an authorized dealer of the watches they sell, they are a known grey-market dealer. Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with acquiring watches from the grey-market as there are some sellers who do in fact sell authentic and new watches (though generally without manufacturer's warranty - a quick google search on grey-market watches should provide some more info on this subject). The problem is that there are some grey-market sellers who will sell a refurbished watch or a watch with a warranty that is "stale" (see reviews from 'whoshe' and 'Lovetobeme') and claim that it is new. I suspect MiT falls into the latter category based on the negative feedback I've read and my experience.
I wouldn't be surprised if MiT created a bunch of fake Citysearch accounts to prop themselves up with false reviews because there is no way that this place deserves the type of praise they've been given. For example, one review mentions MiT as an "IT STORE" which couldn't be further from the truth. The store is a bare bones 12x12 foot space in the jewelry district that has a dingy feel to it. If you want to see an "IT STORE" you should go see the Tourneau flagship store on 57th Street or the Wempe store on 5th Ave. As for Boris' friendliness, that was certainly non-existent during my experience. I had asked if the watch I was interested in came with all the manufacturer's authenticity papers and warranty, and if so, whether I could see them. Boris refused to show them to me, and said that I could only see them after negotiating a price, and he actually got a bit defensive about the whole thing. I don't think my request was unreasonable, as I think any customer should be able to see exactly what they are getting before committing to a price (how else can you assign value to something if you can't see it!).
Anyway, I walked away because my gut feeling was that the watch I was looking at was not in fact new (having looked at the leather strap, some of the holes that hold the deployment clasp appeared more worn than they should and the leather itself creased in some areas) and that the warranty was either (i) a stale one, or (ii) had serial numbers that did not match the ones on the watch.
Bottom line, do your research and try to avoid this store. If you feel compelled to buy from MiT, I'd recommend you go with someone who knows watches well and can advise you.
Honest & Helpful, Made a great pruchase.
A few weeks ago I was in the market to purchase a watch as an engagement gift for my son in law and I was told to only go to Boris from Motion in Time by a few friends of mine. They are watch enthusiasts, unlike me, and knew that since I was spending a hefty amount of money ($30k+) on a watch I should see the best.
After reading a few different reviews online I was hesitant to contact the so called "IT STORE" for watches. I read a number of reviews online and although they were mostly good I did not feel 100% confident in my friends referral. I went to Yelp and read my final review from "Nathan A." who said that he would not recommend Motion in Time to anyone.
I gave the store the benefit of the doubt and gave it a shot. I came to Midtown to see Boris and was greeted like a gentleman. I do not know if it because he knew who sent me or not, but I quickly had a good feeling about him and his store. After about an hour of him literally teaching me about all there is to know about watches and the market for watches, he helped me decide on THE watch for my future son in law. It was a stunning Patek Philippe that was apparently impossible to get anywhere. He explained that Patek was having a price increase in about a month and that it is a solid purchase. I took his advise and made the purchase.
After all was said and done, I asked him about the mixed reviews that I read online and he simply explained that it is "impossible to make everyone happy." And though it is unfortunate that many of his clients are not computer savvy or do not care for online reviews I told him that I would let the public know of my unbelievable experience at his store.
I think that Boris and his family at Motion in Time, are experts in the field of watches. Not only would I recommend them to anyone that is looking to purchase a fine timepiece, but I would guarantee that they will probably have what others wouldn't and would give the best possible price they can to close the deal. They definitely made a fine impression on me.
To top off this wonderful experience, I called a few other watch dealers after making the purchase to see if Boris was 100% honest with me and they ALL told me that the watch that I purchased is back ordered for months and that no one in there right minds would sell it at a discount.
Boris, It was a pleasure working with you and my son in law loved his watch. He told me that one word came to mind when he opened the box - PERFECT.
Motion in Time, Inc. - A+++++ in my book.
2 Thumbs up very cool guys. I actually just fixed my watch with Motion in time and they did an incredible job at a very fair price. They seem like very nice people, I know a few people that shop in this store and speak highly of them in repairs and sales, Their very cool guys

Great customer care/service. I bought my first watch today from motion in time from a guy named Ariel, he took his time and showed my husband and I some different choices and many types of other brand watches, its very difficult to get some customer service these days, Anyone looking for a watch go to motion in time for some great service and prices
Nice People Good Prices. I've been shopping around 47st and walked into this watch store which had the watch i wanted, I asked the gentleman what the best price would be and told him i had already gotten offers i want a better price, long story short he gave it to me not a whole lot cheap than the other stores, but i felt comfortable buying it from him, I found out later that week that a friend of mine buys all her watches and jewelry from Motion In Time, Small world. Thanx
The best watch store. Got myself the nicest watch today thank you motion in time
