Avoid at all costs!!!

Beware to any bride-to-be or potential customer, DO NOT USE Bermini Tailors and DO NOT trust a word Joe Hemrajani says. For 4 months I have been repeatedly lied too, disappointed with any work that was done and treated like a fool. This experience of getting my wedding dress tailored was supposed to be a memorable and exciting one... it's certainly been memorable but for all the wrong reasons. Two weeks ago I decided enough was enough and I took my dress to another tailor who couldn't believe the shoddy work that had been done. She managed to correct the work that had been done and finished all other alterations within a week!! Avoid Bermini's at all cost!!!!

If the product is not provided on time or there is a problem, Joe will promptly seek additional alternatives (such as a refund) to reimburse you.

You're better off elsewhere

I had a mixed experience with Bermini for the alteration of my very simple wedding dress, which I just picked up today. The positives: 1) I am happy with the final product and 2) it didn't cost me a fortune. The negatives: 1) I was told to make an appt specifically with Joe for the alterations, which I did, and he wasn't even there when I brought in the wedding dress so someone else had to help me; 2) they weren't clear with me whether I would need a single or multiple fittings, so I expected my simple dress to be ready to take home on the first return visit (imagine my surprise when my dress had seams hanging open everywhere); 3) they canceled an appt on me at the last minute; 4) they kept me waiting for both of my fittings (25 minutes this last time) while they did the alterations that should have been finished in time for my appointment; 5) it's difficult to get anyone on the phone, and they do not return voice and e-mails; and 6) as a bride-to-be you don't get pampered in the least, and don't expect anyone to even help you get the dress on. Had I known how much angst they would have caused me (wedding planning is already stressful enough!), I would have taken my business elsewhere. You should know that they are about to move from the Chainin Bldg on 42nd and Lex to another location on (I think) 51st and 7th. If you use them, and I don't think you should, you should protect yourself and pay by credit card. And don't expect them to adhere to the turnaround times they promote on their website. Certainly don't let them do anything last minute -- that's just asking for trouble.
