just excellent

I was originally a bit skeptical when I was reading reviews about this place, because the reviews seemed to be just too good. Now I agree with them 100%. The food is great, the service is top notch, and the ambience is very charming. My wife ordered seafood linguini. I ordered steak special with shitake mushrooms and espresso. Everything tasted great. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for desert because the meals were large.

Warning - Flames is now an Italian Restaurant. The steakhouse is no more....

We used to love the steak house at 5 Gold, now it has changed to an Italian. The food is OK, but the prices are still steep.

Just about every full service restaurant at New York City serves steak that tastes about the same no matter where you choose to order it from. And that's why, since Flames Steakhouse opened up, i prefer to eat steak only at Flames. If you understand the theory of aging beef, you'll know why the steak here is so much better than anywhere else in THE world and to die for. The service at Flames is incomparable- waiters helped us individually choose the right cut, preparation, type of steak and degree of doneness. Not only that, the waiters also helped us pick the right wine so we can enjoy every bite of our delicious/juicy stake with the right type of wine.

P.S. the deserts are fabulous!
