What People Are Saying About El Bocadito
Featured Review

In Short – A tiny taste of Mexico emerges from this Chihuahua-sized snack bar, where treats like quesadillas, esquites (roasted corn with lime, mayo, cheese and chili powder), and taquitos durados (crunchy taco cigars stuffed with potato, chorizo or lamb) allow diners to eat with their hands like natives of the Distrito Federal. Heartier daily specials like chicken mole call for settling in with a knife and fork, while potent margaritas make a great liquid match for the whole menu.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- Try margarita flavors from the everyday (lime) to the unusual (acai berry). El Bocadito also serves Jarritos, imported Mexican sodas in flavors like mandarin and grapefruit.
They charge per taco!

We expected this tiny place to be fun and reasonably priced - not so! They charge you per taco and the prices are just not reasonable. I wouldn't go back for this reason.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Price
Best Mexican Food Downtown

I went to Dos Caminos last night and the experience was so bad it inspired me to write a positive review for El Bocadito. El Bocadito rocks. The food is authentic and delicious, and the service is excellent. The drinks are also great, and the bartender bought us a round, which I thought was really cool. We love this place.
Portions so small you need 2 entrees!

I was not impressed...the food was underrated (although the nachos were pretty good), but don't get all excited about the prices because the portions come out so small, you'll understand why they're so cheap! Me and my husband ordered two different meals and I saw the "chef" in the kitchen basically scoop the same sauce over both dishes. Not impressive.
Love it

Super nice servers, terrific mexican food, and we saw Mike Meyers there. Cool vibe overall. What else can you ask for? Highly recommended.
I liked it, for a neighborhood place
by splashkpl
Yes the place is small ( 4 tables?). The guacamole ($5)needed some salt. I had the chicken chilaquiles ($8?)which was good but needed a little something. The drinks ($10) were STRONG!. Saw a celeb stop in. Overall, not bad but not great either. My freinds didn't like it but i think it's cuz they're accustomed to mexican tasting more like taco bell (no offense to my friends or taco bell).
- Pros: service, strong drinks
- Cons: food was missing something
