Worth the trip to Brooklyn. I had my hair done at an upscale salon I Queens and loved the hair I just couldn't afford the maintenance. I have no complaint about the place in Astoria, the prices are just not feasible for me long term. So then I found this salon on backpage and got the same type of extensions, good quality hair and paid 600. Was embarrassed that I spent almost 3 times that at the other place.

Customer for YEARS!. I have had many weaves before Shanda and none come close! I have been a customer since 2008. I have had fusions, microlinks and sew-ins and all have been fantastic!! She always get my hair texture right when matching my hair. You know its good when you fool other weave wearing ladies. I acutally had another stylist compliment my hair and when I later (after feeling guilty) admitted it was a weave she was in SHOCK! I've had weaves in DC, Buffalo, Toronto, Jamaica and Florida and NO one comes close to what Shanda does. I have and will continue to travel back to Shanda for my extensions!

This Woman is a Goddess with Extensions. Shanda was the best extension expert I have EVER been to (and, due to work, I have had extensions placed in LA, SF, London, NY and Paris).

She is knowledgeable, rapid quick, and tailors the service to your hair. In my case, I was working in NY for two weeks and my 4 week old extensions from California were popping out so badly, it was publically embarassing.

I emailed Shanda, she called back within 10 minutes of my email, agreed to accept me on the spot without an appointment, knew exactly what type and color of hair was required and where to procure it (and it was custom mixed), gave me subway directions and I was on my way.

She was warm, business-like, detail-oriented, and did not make me feel bad or neglected for being an emergency client. The vibe in her shop is amazing. All of the stylists are warm, engaging, effing hysterical and are well-trained. Tiffany did a patient and thorough extension removal, Imani a fabulous shampoo (with a nice massage) and then Shanda worked her magic in less than three hours for a full head of hair AND A great haircut. All for less than $500!!! She totally had me at her mercy and was just so kind and professional and fair.

I will be visiting her salon and cannot recommend it highly enough. Run, don't walk--it will be well worth the trip

Kudos, my friends!

Worth the price. Paid a lot less than what I spent the first time I got great lengths. Shandra was faster and the cut was better. She is funny and the conversations in the salon make time fly.

I will be a returning customer. The price is very good, a little cheaper than what I expected. The place is clean and Chandra works fast. Had a consultation in the brooklyn spot, bought my hair there and got my hair done in manhattan. She's good and I really like the new extensions.

microbead extensions done well. Got the i'link micrbead extensions. Happy with the service got my hair extensions in manhattan by her. Her phone rang the whole time she did my hair which was distracting but she doesnt talk and talk while she's doing your hair like other stylists. Called for a tightening appointment and she said she is now in Brooklyn which is a bit far for me. She does hair well so I will take the trip.

So glad I found her again. it was a hard time finding her again after she did my hair in 2009. She closed down her salon in queens and I was searching and found a place in astoria that was not to far from where she used to be. I spent almost 2,000 dollars and it came out sorta okay but not the way Shanda does hair. After searching I found her but Shanda is now in brooklyn. I was happy to hear she was just on maternity leave and that she didn't stop doing hair thank god. Got my hair done and it was great as usual and almost

1500 dollars cheaper than the other place and she paid for my lunch! FYI: Some of her clients can be quite annoying diva types. I wear my hair in a realistic looking layered shoulder length style but some of these girls really think they are Beyonce. Its brooklyn so walk in customers are rude sometimes. Parking is better at this place than her old queens place. Caribbean food is sold in a nice place at the corner, which I love.

THE Best Weave. I got a long straight Remy weave done by Shanda. I've gotten so many compliments. At first I was gonna get a lace front weave but we both agreed with brutal honesty that I looked like Neanderthal woman because I have a low hairline. She suggested the weave which fit my face and made me look super. This took hours out of her day - to take out the neanderthal thing, wait for me to get new hair, etc. She did not complain or charge extra. She's great. I paid $200, which I consider a steal considering that she's a professional and other places charge like $120 for 5 bumpy rows and plop some gel in front and call it a day. Plus, she's not a mute. She'll talk and make the time enjoyable.

Great work and a nice girl. I have had my share of weaves and the best stylist Ive been to lives in Atlanta, other than Shanda. I don't like my hair braided tight, and most people say they can close a full head weave but she knows how to do it right. She is very quick and professional. I found her on craigslist, and she was a great experience unlike others on cl. Also her price was higher than other stylers on there. I paid 200.00 and I will go back to her.

Shanda did my hair extensions... She is THE BEST HANDS DOWN. Let me say I have had extension done by many people, and she is one of the most interesting stylists I have ever met! I went to her salon in Long Island city in 2005 for a consultation. I thought she was way too expensive so I went somewhere else to get my extensions done. I also didn't like the fact that she kept disagreeing with me about the type of extensions that were best for my hair. I wanted the glue type keratin and she suggested microlinking. Eventually she told me to find someone else to do my hair. (I got kind of heated lol) I found this person on craigslist for half the price and needless to say the job was done horribly. Her price was 300.00 included the hair which was not enough to make it as full as I like. So I went to Shanda to fix it, to add some hair to make i t fuller. That was a waste because the original hair they gave me didn't match mine at all, so I had to pay her to remove the old hair, buy new hair and start from scratch. WHATEVER GLUE ADHESIVE ( I STILL DONT KNOW TILL THIS DAY) that chick on craigslist put in my hair destroyed it. When Shanda took out what she put in WITH MICROLINKING my hair was fine. My hair from the glue fusion looked like someone chewed it up. She said the glue was just too harsh for my hair, and I should have listened. So she redid my hair, I payed 550 w/ the hair included. That was 4 years ago. She has grew my hair back, way past where it was in 2005, I had to cut it a few times to catch up to the damaged the CL girl caused but now I only add microlinks for highlights now. I will never let anyone else do my hair because the damage they cause is way more "COSTLY" than having the right person do it the right way the first time.

Let me just tell you about Shanda before you go to her. LISTEN TO HER.. she knows what she is talking about. Everything is not for everyones hair. You need to let her see your hair first. The lady on Craigslist gave me a price without seeing my hair. How the hell does she even know how much hair I need and what texture i know that NOW I should have realized that, it would have saved me some $$ AND SAVED MY HAIR. I went by her price and my hair came out jacked up.

She will also do you hair at anytime, I had to fly out to LA on a 8am flight, she did my hair at 2am the day before. She also has different prices on different days.

She will aslo travel to you. I flew her out to my work site in Atlanta once, and she travels to me in Connecticut sometimes, going to her is cheaper though.

She is not the NICEST person on the planet. It took me a minute to get used to her attitude, i HAVE TO BE HONEST. If you are late, she will let you know she is not happy about it. Then again she does so many people a day, I understand why an extra hour is a big deal to her. I came to my first appointment with all this stuff I printed out from the internet telling her what "I KNEW", and she kind of laughed me off. I though that was rude, but she was right. What I knew is how I decided the glue type of extensions where best for me and my hair got all ripped up. She is also not the meanest. She kind of has a straight forward tll it like it is personality, which can turn some people off I know it turned me off at first.

Oh yeah, I didn't realize until I had my hair done 3 times by her, if you pay cash she will give you discounts. Also i you cancel appointments she will double book your appointment next time. I was so ANGRY about this but I am not mad at her. She does her thing, when it comes down to it time is money and I respect her. I really admire when I see a young woman of color doing her thing. She is professional, fun and a PERFECTIONIST which is important to me, whoever does my hair should be a perfectionist.
