Editorial Review for Yoga to the People – by Lynn Suhrie

In Short
Reclaiming the practice of yoga from the well-to-do, this democratic fitness space (located in an airy turn-of-the century building) makes it possible for anyone to go to an hour class for Power Vinyasa Flow. Fees are donation-based, so $10 per class is appreciated, but participants on tight budgets are able to contribute whatever they can--which means everyone is welcome, regardless of experience, income or fitness level.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I was looking for a good place to start yoga and turns out I found a great one! Not only did I feel comfortable practicing there but was greeted amiably by the staff who made me feel right at home. The classes are really challenging while still offering something not too terribly intimidating for beginners. What they advertise is truly what they offer: a donation (without guilt or pressure) based studio with no rules, pre-conceived notions or dress code. I would highly highly recommend this studio to anyone and everyone interested in the practice of yoga.

Cons: Classes can be a bit crowded and the entry ways are small....there's always a long line for the bathroom

If you are looking to get into yoga this is a great place to do it. It is by donation, so you can try it out and only donate if you have a good experience. The instructors work you hard, but anyone can do the class at their own pace and difficulty level. It is a really great workout and relaxing at the same time. They are also very supportive if you are starting out and cannot do every position. I also really love the music the play there and the vibe in general. My only recommendation is to get there early because the place fills up fast!

Pros: everything

Cons: fills up fast
