AMAZING cut and color!!. This girl is AMAZING!! Some people are good either at cut or color; she is great in all departments! She has been styling my hair for the past 3 years. I have even gone as far as flying out to New York to get my hair done by her (I now live in San Francisco). It is not just a hair cut or color when I meet with Janell. I let her know what I am going for and she helps me achieve it. Hell sometimes I dont even know what I want and she helps me figure it out. She is honest and will let you know what she thinks and judging by her own style that means a lot. She has got me to wear my hair curly when I didnt think it was possible! She knows her products and showed me how so I can achieve my look on my own and not in her presence. And let me tell you these curls have got me places!!! I dont want to sound overly about this girl but there is no other way to speak of her. And her conversation is always a nice plus!

Janell rocks!!!. Janelle is the woman! I followed her for several years now and have always loved, loved, loved what she does for my genetically challenged hair!! She cuts and colors it so that i look like i have twice the hair on my head than i actually do!! She brings her love for travel to the table and gives me cool looks that nobody else has! LOVE HER!!!!

I highly recommend Janell!!!!!

Best of NYC. I have been with Janelle for 5 and half years now and will not see anyone else. I followed her from Soon to Ruby 6. She is the ONLY hair stylist who has ever gotten my nappy hair to work in a way that suits me and makes me look the way i want to look. She is extremely attentive and is an excellent communicator. Her knowledge of pop culture is extremely helpful insofar as she will always know the look you are going for - whether it be mod, 70's glam, punk, new wave, wall street, frat boy, sorority girl etc.... On a scale of 1-10 she is an 11.

User review by elle78. The award for best NYC hairstylist without a doubt belongs to Janell. When I started seeing her I was a mess. Years of at home bleaching left me hair in shambles and years of seeing hack hairdressers made it even worse. Janell saved me from thiss cycle of abuse and preformed a miracle! My color and cut are PERFECT! Getting my hair done is no longer a stress but a pleasure. To compliment my perfect hair- a stylish and enthusiac stylist. Her cutting edge sense of style and personal attentiveness leaves men the know with a traffic stopping head of hair. Thank you Ms. Janell- I am your forever!

A Master of Her Trade. This lovely woman gave me an incredible cut. I have fine, thin, straight hair that is quite hard to deal with. More often than not, Im unhappy when I leave the salon (and especially the next day after Ive washed my hair), but this didnt happen with Janell. She made some great suggestions, but ALSO listened to what I wanted, and the result was a hair cut better than I imagined. She didn't cut too much off! (I hate it when you go in for a trim and the hairdresser cuts off 6 inches). Not to mention, she is a personable and a great conversationalist, which makes her a pleasure to be around. Janell is a master of her trade.

Great Haircut. I go to this salon on a regular basis for all my color/cuts. Janell makes great suggestions on what to do in terms of color & style. I always leave her looking great and loving my hair. Specifically, I like a more razored & layered look with some color, and I won't trust anyone else with my tresses.

Fantastic color and cut. There are so many little boutique hair salons in the village, it's hard to pick one!! But I was recommended to Ruby 6 Salon by a friend, Janell, specifically, and she did such a fantastic job on my hair I had to leave feedback. I have very damaged hair due to a lot of coloring, and Janell was still able to get my hair to the color that I wanted and cut it exactly as I described, and gave me a great conditioning treatment. I would highly recommend.
