Loungey late-night restaurant has been revamped and reopened as Suzie Wong, an asian-influenced Chelsea hot spot where sake is the new Grey Goose of bottle service. – The Scene
Shaded mirrors mask time at this dusky restaurant, where clubbers come to wind-up or wind-down their West Chelsea night. A tropical party vibe emanates from palm trees and a colorful bar, while log cabin cabanas, comfy booths and super-wide banquettes strike a cozy balance.
The hearty portions of comfort food could spoil any buzz--but nibbling's hardly a compromise when openers and closers are the menu's strongest points. Dunk crisp calamari into tasty sauces such as spicy marinara and saphron aioli, then dig into a warm bread pudding with just the right hint of cinnamon. The mids you won't be missing include a 24-hour diner-style cheeseburger, a rosemary-soaked meat loaf, and the almost-redeeming tamarind-marinated sea bass. In the end, waitresses look the part more than know their stuff, so just trust your cravings.
Great for dinner before a night out – I came here with a group of girlfriends before a night out and it was overall a great experience. It was less crowded than I would have liked- it's not a good sign when there are only two or three tables in use in a supposed "trendy" restaurant...and we were there from 8:30 to 11pm!
We had a nice, helpful waiter who looked more like a regular guy ready to go out clubbing himself. The entrees were delicious and the Pre:Post cocktail tasted great. Others in our group ordered different cockatils and were very dissapointed by them- stick with the popular "Pre:Post"! The decor is beautiful, but watch out! The table, menus and everything else we touched was really sticky!
Location is key since you walk out the door and are among all the great clubs and bars without having to hop in a taxi.
Only bad note is that this restaurant charges $2 for bread! Granted, this isn't a high price, but bread should be offered free of charge in a trendy, nice restaurant that offers entrees between $20 and $30. Charging for bread cheapens the experience.
Nice vibe – I was at this place last weekend and I LOVED the sunken lounges. Drinks came a little slow, probably because it was so busy, and the calamari was a bit gummy for my liking. The shrimp rolls were delicious, though, and the crowd was mellow. This is a good place to wind down, but there's definitely only room for that and a bit of mingling.
Great Sat Night – I went this past Sat with a few friends and the food was amazing. I had the Seared Shrimp which was excellent. The service was ok--could be improved--but as it was crowded we could understand. Server was nice but seemed too busy. The atmosphere was amazing, great scene. Had a great crowd and bar crowd. I was surprised as I saw alot of mixed reviews--but definitely worth checking out.
Don't bother with this place, seriously. – Oh boy... I don't even know what to say. This was at first seemed very promising when we got seated for dinner, but the impression deteriorated very quickly as the night progressed. Our appetizers and entrees were served in a timely fashion, however, after our entrees were served, we never saw our server again. When it was time to order dessert, we could not get anyone to bring the menus cos no server was in sight. When we finally found our server, she didn't even bother bringing the menus and instead just told us what they had. The surprising thing at that point was that she turned around and walked away w/o even asking if we had questions. It took another 15 minutes to order our dessert, and then when we were done with that, we could not find the server again to get our check. We were rather displeased by that point, so we asked another server to get the manager. Guess what? We waited another 15 minutes and finally realized he just ignored our request! I finally found the manager after walking around the restaurant to ask the staff who the manager was. Even the manager (who was somewhat apologetic) wasn't as attentive to a complaint as one would have expected. What a disappointment.
The only thing good is the location to the clubs (not enought EXITS though....) – Wow! Talk about a dissapointment. We went out (6) girls for a pre-night birthday bash and we left hungry and angered. Talk about overpriced for horrible food and the TOPPER, awful service. We love going out practically weekly and try out venues of all shapes and sizes, needless to say we will not be back and not only that...I felt strong enough to write this review. If you are going to charge 20+ for an entree your DUCKS better be in a row. I would have enjoyed a candle lighto dinner in a studio apartment with MCDONALDS.
The owners are great, cared about the small things.... – JE and Carlo
You guys know how to make a party! Just wanted to post my thank you to the public. You guys are great! Thank you for taking the time to exceed all my expectations. You cared about the small things, which are often overlooked. That is what impressed my firm and I so much.
Thank you again
Highly Recommend it – This place is really cool, after having a late night Quo night club, Me and 10 of my friends went to Pre:Post Restaurant. It was amazing, they stay open till 5am, the music was wonderful. I am so glad the finally, there is a restaurant that is close by all the cool clubs and they stay open all hours. The food was wonderful, excellent pizza. The vibe was excellent, and the staff was caring and nice.
Amazing food – The food was wonderful, the service was great. Very trendy, I celebrated my 21st birthday and I had a blast. My guests were having a great time, the place is unbelievable, We sat at a nice booth, it was just a fun experience. I will definately go there next time.
Excellent experience – Finally, there is a restaurant that is all about the food, great service, and amazing cocktails. Pre:Post impressed me alot. I'm not the type of person to go to new restaurants, but Pre:Post hit the right spot. The decor is amazing, the service was wonderful, everyone was so nice to me and my friends. The price was reasonable, and the food was spectacular.
ps. try the chicken sandwich, it's to die for.
