Editorial Review for Buenos Aires – by Katie Heffernan

The Scene
Picture windows and a sidewalk awning blend this bistro into its picturesque, tree-lined stretch of Sixth Street. The simply set space--with dark woods and old photographs of the namesake city, and frosted ceiling lamps to cast a soft glow--is enlivened by the chatter of its neighborhood clientele.

The Food

Expect a meat-heavy menu, of course, but one that you'll have to navigate for kinks. To start, a hit-or-miss (though generous) sampling of blood sausage, sweetbreads, kidney and chorizo is trumped by pastry-like empanadas that flake away to sweet corn and chicken fillings. Far superior in meats are the grilled entrees. An expertly seared filet mignon remains pink-centered, and Argentinian chicken retains its juices post-rotisserie--although short ribs suffer from lack of trimming. Follow the lead of other diners by choosing the tasty side of thick-cut fries over mushy mashed potatoes--but whatever you choose, save room for crepe-like caramel pancakes oozing sugary goodness.

Insider Tips

Where to Sit

The porch in back, overlooking a grassy yard, lends a homey-cozy feel for outdoor dining in summertime.

What to Drink

Adding a bottle of Argentinian wine to your order won't upset the bill--many are priced in the mid-20s.

Food is great, steak is the best and the menu is trully argentinean... For an authentic argentinean experience this is the place. best of all is the service and atmosphere. People are welcomed and the onwer and wife are most of the time greeting customers! Totally recommend it. Pros: food, atmosphere, Skirt steak! Cons: none

This place is awesome. Great steaks, great wine, absolutely delicious. The mash potatoes were excellent. You have to check this place out.
