The Scene – Picture windows and a sidewalk awning blend this bistro into its picturesque, tree-lined stretch of Sixth Street. The simply set space--with dark woods and old photographs of the namesake city, and frosted ceiling lamps to cast a soft glow--is enlivened by the chatter of its neighborhood clientele. – – The Food – Expect a meat-heavy menu, of course, but one that you'll have to navigate for kinks. To start, a hit-or-miss (though generous) sampling of blood sausage, sweetbreads, kidney and chorizo is trumped by pastry-like empanadas that flake away to sweet…

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
The porch in back, overlooking a grassy yard, lends a homey-cozy feel for outdoor dining in summertime.
What to Drink:
Adding a bottle of Argentinian wine to your order won't upset the bill--many are priced in the mid-20s.

Just visited Buenos Aires on September 20th for a wedding dinner for my sister and her husband. My entire family and everyone in attendance at the wedding dinner would reccommend this restaurant to anyone! The staff was excellent. There was never an empty glass or a member of our dinner that was unattended to. We had a few special requests for the dinner, in regards to music and a special cake that we had, and they not only helped us with our special needs but went above and beyond to make sure that my sisters wedding dinner was so special. We will never forget their kindness. The food was also amazing! The best filet mignon I had ever had. Thank you again to the wonderful staff at this restaurant and to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. We will be visiting you every time we are in New York.

Walking in the east village we came across with this lovely spot.

Food its amazing, the pulpo is great and the tuna entree is definitely something else. Service was polite and attentive and the ambiance is really nice, with the windows open to the street. I recommend this place.

I have been going to Buenos Aires for several years and I love it every single time. I lived in Buenos Aires for several years and this place brings me so many memories; from the empanadas, to the dessets and of course the meat. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that would like to eat a great steak without having to spend a fortune.

Very Very Very Low Quality Food!

by TheFoodMaster at Citysearch

I went there yesterday with my friend, trying to avoid the $50 per steak in the upper scale steakhouses. I thought I can find reasonable food for reasonable prices. However, even basic Argentinean dishes were extremely disapointing. From appetizers such as Mollejas, and Salads to main courses such as a Rib eye steak, the chimichurri and evn the bread were all made very poorly. Service was ok, but not very professional as well.

  • Pros: Cozy and simple, no need to come with suits
  • Cons: Vert low quality of food, not matching the expectations
