Love it!. A few months ago I got a terrible hair cut at another salon. It was awful, porbably the worst hair cut of my life and with short hair its hard to hide! After a few months of growing it out I really needed someone to pay attention to what I wanted and simply even out my hair! I found Tomoko salon on citysearch and felt daring enough to give it a try. All the reviews were great so why not?! Tomoko did a GREAT JOB! She was so wonderful and really looked at my hair and listened to what had happened and what I wanted it to look like. I also brought a picture of what I wanted and she payed attention to that and I absolutely LOVE MY HAIR NOW!!! She did such a great job, I'm so pleased with it and will definitely be back!! Thank you!

Wonderful salon and service. Tomoko has been cutting and coloring my hair for the past 5 years. I have never been disappointed. Coming to her salon is always a pleasant experience and my hair always looks great. There is a great spa just next door also which is good if you want to multi-task - hair, facial, massage, manicure . . .

great experience. I received a gift certificate from my wife. So I decided to schedule an appointment for haircut and Scalp massage .I was very pleased with the services I received from Tomoko and her assistant ... I liked how they treated me that was very relaxing and get all stress off. I plan on going back as a regular customer .

Tomoko is the BEST stylist !!!. For the last 3yr, Tomoko always gives me wonderful hair cut.

I have curly hair and have suffered many disasters before. But, no more since I met her ! She's great and she knows what she's doing. I have never had so many compliments on a haircut. Each time when I walk out of Tomoko Shima?s I am re-energized and feel amazing! You wouldn't believe the looks I get walking back home from the salon. Also she has a great personality .She listen to me and she completely understand me . I can relax in the intimate surroundings and the service is wonderful !!

It wasn't what I wanted. It was better! I wanted to try something completely different and have a hairstyle with long in the front and short in the back with a turquoise hair color(I provided my own color). I chose Nao Suzuki from all those other great reviews of her. When she realized what I wanted, she talked with me and drew a quick picture to make it more stylish to fit better. At first, I was hesitant but I thought on it and it looked similar to what I wanted but improved so I accepted that idea. She bleached and colored my hair first. The color didn't come out exactly the way I wanted it to be but I can't blame it on the stylist because it was out of her control. Bleached blonde hair+Blue=green. She offered to dye it deeper but I refused. Not her fault but it turned to be a nice ocean color so it was alright with me. Nao did mainly everything by herself including shampooing my hair. When she shampooed my hair off of the color I gave her, the color went on her hands. I felt bad but she didn't comment about it or show worry about it at all. She was just as friendly as before, smiled and ushered me back to my chair. Then, began the cutting of my hair. Watching her, you know she's so focused and knows how to work fast but she asks if you're doing alright and such from time to time to make sure you're okay with her work so far. I had no complaints. She kept snipping away at my hair. My boyfriend was sitting in the chair behind me. Not even half of the way cutting the back of my hair, he said it looked amazing. I was getting anxious and let her keep on doing the work. After everything was done, it really did look amazing. She made my accident color work so wonderfully with the cut. I never had short hair because I was scared of how I would look with it but Nao's hairstyle she gave me was much better than I expected and wanted. She took pictures of my hairstyle at the end. If this is her first time doing a style out of the normal color and cuts, she did wonderfully. Truly a professional.

Nao is a true artist ... ... and her medium is hair !

just like Michelangelo did while carving David out of marble, Nao takes her time in eliminating any unnecessary strands, and only keeps the essential, never failing to give each customer a new, more realistic, more real look at their own, real selves. Thankks Nao! Will come back ..

NAO is great!!. I'm here in NYC for 43 years from Tokyo. NAO cut my hair when I have time, and she cut so good.!

She is a great hair cutter.

My friend told me, I look like a move- star when NAO cut my hair.

best hair stylist in my life. if u're looking for a better hair stylist, u can try Nao Suzuki in this salon.

her technique is just amazing!! i've never liked my hair before but after nao's cutting,

my hair looks so gorgeous. my boyfriend and co-workers gave me compliments!

following her advice, i can set my hair very easily every morning and it just looks like a style from magazine.

i'm very happy to find this hair salon and want to recommend nao as ur new stylist.

The only hair salon in NYC that I would like to go back to!. I finally find a hair salon in NYC after 5 years that I would like to come back to and would like to recommend to my friends! Nao Suzuki is an excellent stylist in terms of her tecknique and service. She is really professional at what she does yet very friendly that she creates the atomosphere that you can take as much time you need to request and ask for advise in details about your hair. The great thing is she will visualize the hair style of what you wanted or even better than what you imagined it would be. Until I experienced the haircut at this salon, I only used to go to the same hair salon in Tokyo when I travel back. Now, I can have a haircut anytime I want to!

I hugely recommend Nao if you truelly care about your hairstyle!

I love this hair salon. I've been going here ever since I moved to the upper east side in june '06. I've always had cathy do my hair and since she left I've went to Nao. She is amazing and I absolutely love the way she cuts my hair. My friends always ask me where I go and I am very happy that I found this place. Great price and great stylists.
