“And I love the reclining Buddha on top of the bar !”
“Great food in a beautiful setting”
“Great food, service.”
“The food is excellent, the service was quick and courteous, and it's in a nicely designed contemporary room.”
Great food, service.... I heard about Moksha from my work colleagues and, it being around the corner from my apartment, looked like a good dinner option with my mom who was in from out of town. The reclining Buddha dominates the interior over the Bar and the waterfall along one side of the dining room. The staff was overstretched due to the flu season! Our appetizer took 45 minutes and our entrees took another 20-30 after that. HOWEVER, the food was unbelievable... I had Aloo Gobi and the sauce was fabulous. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her lamb shank, as well. All in all, I'd love to come back when the flu season is over!
Best Indian. I have been to this restaurant twice and both time was happy with the food, service, and the ambiance
A total disappointment.
On the day we had a reservation, the restaurant was crowded and we were not promptly greeted. The waitress never brought us menu or offer us any service. I had to walk to the front of the restaurant and grab the take-out menus. When we finally got her attention after more than 20 minutes, she told us they were busy and we would have to wait more for service. We brought it up to the manger and he told us he can wait on us in 10 minutes. We decided to go somewhere else.
Having a busy night is not an excuse for poor service. If a restaurateur does not know how to manage a restaurant, he/she should not be in the business.
Unique Indian in a Unique Setting. I looked forward to trying this place after reading about it and it did not disappoint. You can go to many Indian restaurants, but you may never taste anything like the chickpea pancakes appetizer that will make me go back there again and again. The space is beautiful and calming, the food is well presented and there are wonderful dishes that add to the great feel. Maybe its the fountain wall and the sound of its running water....
Great food in a beautiful setting. I made a reservation here for my wife's birthday and and both we and our guests loved it. The food is excellent, the service was quick and courteous, and it's in a nicely designed contemporary room. Our favorite dishes are the eggplant appetizer, the crispy okra and one of the most tender lamb shank I've ever eaten. We go out at least twice a week, including practically every Indian restaurant in Manhattan, and this is among our favorite places to eat. And I love the reclining Buddha on top of the bar !
