“Penn Optical is the most convenient location close to Penn Station.”
“You could not ask for better service and the eyeglass selection was great.”
“Great price, fast service - will be back!”
“i was really impressed by how knowledgeable and friendly the staff were.”
“the prices are great, and the selection is huge”
“Penn Optical has the best customer service - the people are so nice and helpful, and the turnaround is really quick!”
Terrible Customer Service.
All of the people behind the counter are so rude but KEISHA has the most obnoxious attitude. The doctor was also inattentive.
Good thing that I didnt buy any product here. will never go back again.
VERY RUDE!. This place is the epitomy of a rude nyc optometry office. I needed a new prescription because mine had expired and I went here. The doctor who was giving me the eye exam was extremely impatient with me. For example, when he would give me 2 options to see which one I could see more clearly and it would get to the point where they looked exactly the same, I would tell him that they were the same to me and his response every time was, "well you have to pick one--which one is better?" Secondly, he would ask me to read the line of letters/numbers and it would get to a point where I truly could not see anything to even make an educated guess and I told him this and he would just say, "well you need to guess then!" WTF?! So, after a few rounds of this I just started spouting off random numbers and letters. It's already humiliating enough when your vision is so bad that you can't guess the letters but when you have a doctor who is suppose to be helping you making the situation worse it just made for an awful experience! Thirdly, I need to go back for a follow up visit before I can order contacts and I had to call to reschedule and the man I spoke with was so completely ignorant to me. After my follow up I definitely will not be returning to this place!
optical shop or boxing match?. uptight short doctor who fights with you if you voice your dislike of prescription. went back 4 times just to fix a prescription that never got fixed. do not go here! front desk nice but does not seem like the doctor ever tells them whats going on. cute guy works in the back only plus if thats even a plus.
poor service, out of touch.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Each visit (at least 5 just for a pair of contacts) was a drag and felt like a confrontation. I would assume people want to go to a friendly and welcoming place of business especially when discussing something as delicate as the eyes.
Instead at Penn Optics theyll get a young, uptight and rude doctor. When I explained that I could not see well with the higher prescription he had given me, he took a a very unsupportive and skeptical demeanor.
When I told him I was more comfortable with my acuves he compared it to driving an old car and pushed the newer model. When I finally agreed to the newer model, what does he give me? Acuves. I called up to get the correct lens and in its place got an arrogant and non-negotiable attitude. The wrong pair of contacts were ordered and instead of considering that perhaps a mistake on his part was made or better yet finding a solution to the problem, he proceeded to put words in my mouth. He seemed more concerned with being right then with being helpful. The doctor was rude, condensing, and out of touch.
As far as the staff is concerned, they were friendly but never knew what was going on.
When asked why each new pair of trials had different prescriptions they could not answer and when I walked away with my contacts they forgot to provide with the prescription on the boxes.
Super friendly and in the know. Penn Optical is no fancy place...it doesn't take long to realize that they are understaffed. However, I have to say that I had the most pleasant experience with a young lady there named Cassie. She was so professional and charismatic - and although I was completely clueless, she helped me pick out an outstanding pair of frames. The compliments do not stop. If you go there, make SURE to ask for Cassie.
A pleasure to do business here!. The staff was pleasant and attentive. I am very picky and take a long time to make decisions about my glasses but everyone at Penn was so patient with me. They have a great selection of frames and had my glasses ready very quickly. I'm sold!
Editorial Review. Optometrist's office stocks contact lenses, sunglasses and frames from Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, DKNY and others.
The eyes have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Rarely is professional service, quality of product and attention to detail so evident. Their extensive selection of designer frames is impressive.
User review by lyonsjim77. I recently went to Penn Optical for glasses, and I have to say the service was second to none. The staff was very helpful and polite. The were there to help me with my every need and answered all my questions. The frame selection that I was shown was also top nothc. They offered me a wide selection of designer frames to choose from. I would recommend Penn Optical to anyone looking for the best in eye glasses in NYC.
The apple of my eye. I went to Penn Optical the other day and was pleased to receive such a professional, thorough eye exam in the heart of the city. You could not ask for better service and the eyeglass selection was great. From the friendliness of the staff to the efficiency of the service, I was extremely satisfied. I highly recommend Penn Optical to anyone who is looking for a highly professional experience.
