What People Are Saying About Bounce

The sibling of Upper East Side bar Bounce, this East Village game night staple has 20 42-inch plasma screens (in addition to a projector screen) hanging beside still photos of famous athletes at play. A mixed crowd of clean-cut frat boys and fresh-from-the-desk corporate types flock to the long bar and table seating for happy hour drink specials and a menu that's more elaborate than the typical sports bar. As it gets later (and as the drunkenness sets in), attention shifts to the tank top-clad girls and tunes that turn up. – – Hits: On weekend nights you can expect live DJs to…
Editor's Tips
- On the Menu:
- An elaborate beer barrel holds eight glasses of suds and comes in a large stein complete with a spigot. As for food, buffalo wings share the spotlight with rock shrimp linguine and lobster rolls.
- Where to Sit:
- Towards the back, a lounge area forgoes the bar stools for low couches to cuddle up (or pass out) on. In warm weather, snag an outdoor table after the game, and if you can stand the novelty of it, cool down with a beer bong.

THIS PLACE IS CLOSED!

Looks like Bounce Deuce wasn’t really trying too hard in the end — records show that during a NYC Dept of Health inspection shortly before it closed last month, the East Village sports bar was whacked with 71 violation points (a mere 28 points requires a follow-up inspection) for improper food-storage temperatures, evidence of live rodents, improper safeguards against contamination, improper toilet maintenance, and of all things, a trans-fat violation.
- Pros: Cheap beer
- Cons: Health Code Violations!
Lacks Class

This place should be great, but it isn't. Good viewing of many large screen TVs but you can't hear a thing for all the screaming, yelling and other childish hooting and hollering by the young crowd that comes here for the beer bongs. It is no bargain either. The food is fair, the beer overflows and the boys are like H.S. jocks after they have had too much to drink. The girls...the waitresses are hot...but you can't get anything more than the big check. It's overcrowded..making it uncomfortable.
- Pros: Loads of TVs
- Cons: Can't hear the TVs
Nice place

This place is pretty packed when major sports games/events are on. They require you to reserve tables and to spend a lot of money doing so. But if you go there for a few drinks after work on a weekday or on a non-major sports event day, it's pretty quiet. I went here with a few friends after work and the times that we have gone there, it has been a quiet place. Drinks are good. Food is ok, stuff like fries, calamari and the quesadillas are regular bar food-nothing that stands out that would make me wanna come back again for. They have a habit of always bringing free shots over to us whenever we go, which is nice. I just like to come here to hang out and talk and relax.
- Pros: Good Drinks
- Cons: Busy when games are on
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE. IT'S HORRIBLE !!!

I and all my friends hate this place. The food is average but the attitude is UNBELIEVABLE. They ask people to reserve space for all events. Some friends of mine try to go there last night to watch the GAME and even thought the place was 3/4 empty at 730PM. They where told that they could not sit down because of the reservation. Can you imagine, a sports bar not letting fans patrons sit because of reservations. Now i've lived in NY and have done many things, but reservations for a SPORTS BAR on thursday night. THAT MY friends is not kool.
Some of the staff in this place have POLES up their asses too. The attitude is incredible. As a lower EAST side resident for over 10 years this place is by far the worst of all the new places that have moved intot my neigberhood. Dont get me wrong reservations for playoffs and superbowl that is a common NY thing for some bars but for a regular in season game. JUST STUPID.
THE IDIOTS THAT OWN THIS PLACE NEED TO Move THIS BAR BACK TO THE UPPER EAST SIDE!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE
Worst service in the city
by mmmmbeer
I went there for NFL Sunday a couple of times, and the story is the same: rude service or lack of service. When the place got a little crowded, the host had the nerve to ask us to leave, hinting that our tab is not sufficient for us to stay. Well, it's kind of hard to run up a tab when the waitress never came around to take our orders. Regardless, to have the audacity to ask customers to leave when they are not being at all disruptive is completely outrageous. In addition, the food is subpar. The calamari is chewy and not fresh, the fries are soggy, and the wings are overcooked and actually quite disgusting. There are tons of better sports bars in the city. Make sure you don't go to this one.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Worst service, horrible food
