In Short – Biscuits and Bath is a full-service pet day care center, dog walking service and grooming center all rolled into one. At any of its four locations, you can drop Fifi off for a day of playing with other purebreds. And with grooming services like hot oil treatments and brush outs, you know the emphasis is on pampering. Classes help pups learn to behave and even teach old dogs new tricks.
Don't believe the hype

They have a Better Business Bureau rating of D-. What does that tell you?! The same owners own all the locations! They clearly care nothing about the dogs and everything about taking your money. Even staff members sometimes break rank and warn away dog owners. I know several dogs that were mistreated here and none that were well cared for.
Do your pet a favor and go somewhere else.
- Pros: NONE AT ALL
- Cons: they treat the dogs horribly - even the staff whispers that
crackheads and criminals work here

This is by far one of the grossest places to take your dog. I truly do not understand how Rachel Ray and other celebrities bring their dogs here. The place is absolutely filthy. Roaches and Mice are a normal sight everyday. Dogs are usually handled rough and kicked and or punched when no one else is looking. If a dog does not eat, instead of giving it some time they just remove the bowl and then the dog gets no water. Music is always playing so loudly for the dogs sensitve ears. The so called managers are former crackheads and creeps who like to touch their employees. The handlers are all from the Ghetto and take and look like it who come in high on a regular basis. The never listen to what the Day care supervisor has to say which makes the job harder. The company hires a majority of their workers from Work Release programs that the state gives them money for. So rapists, child molestors, robbers, murderers and such are in care of your dogs, walking them and going into your home. They are supposed to be cleared, but really they are just overlooked. They only get paid mimimum wage and need the job for their parole so they wont complain. After working there for 3 years, it was enough. The constant racial bashing and sexual advances from both women and men were tiring. Uniforms needed to be purchased and not given as a NY state law. They dont offer sick days, which I thought was the law. I guess its too much of a lawsuit. Also when they charge you extra for a holiday, none of it goes to the employees, we dont get paid for overtime or holidays. They pocket all of that. No one cares about your dog. Dogs who got into fights would sit in cages for hours until someone from the vet team made time to come up and look at the dog. People are charged for every little thing. I would never bring my 3 dogs here nor would I ever reccomend it to anyone. They say that dogs who are isolated will be played with individually, but they are just left downstairs in corralls with no one. If the pee or poop, no one cleans it up, half of the time, they eat it. All the dogs that are sick are put in a corrall that is open so all the other dogs can catch it. Dogs come in all the time with kennel cough or giardia and are still cleared to play on the track. The owners who dont even know their employees only want your money. If you love your dog please please please bring it somewhere else or tie it up outside, it will probably be better off.

DOGS TREATED LIKE CATTLE!
by olayak77 at Citysearch
My husband applied for a job with Biscuits & Bath 13th st because he had some free time and he thought he would enjoy it. He was HORRIFIED at the way the dogs were treated and so he turned down the job after they offered it to him. He said that most of the horrible conditions are in "employee only" areas. He said that the some of the staff is nice, but the business set up is horrible. Some things that he saw:
- A long line of dogs tied to a wall for 1/2 hour to an hour while they waited to be fed and walked.
- Dogs that he was TOLD had giardia, conjunctivitis (pink eye) and other contagious diseases.
- no water bowls in the rooms with the dogs!!
- a sweet dog with a hurt foot whose bootie came off - and his boot was not replaced for over an hour.
- dogs left in rooms alone in the basement for hours.
- at least 20! small dogs shoved into a space that was 10'x12' while they waited to be fed. No people were in there to watch them/prevent fights!
- while the dogs were treated horribly downstairs, someone took photos upstairs of any playing dogs, for their website.
- they might not have cages/crates, but they put the dogs in plexiglass cubicles! (and the dogs had no blanket in there. they just had the concrete floor to lay on).
- the relief walks were to the nearest lamp-post and back (about 40 feet). If the dog did not relieve himself in that time, sucks for him. they brought him back anyway.
there was more, but I don't want to go on. Please note that this location is the HEADQUARTERS of all the Biscuits & Baths!! The owners of this place sacrifice good service and care in order to make as much money as possible!!!! (they are being sued by several people because of poor dog care. this is a matter of public record.)
If you care about your pup, bring him somewhere else. If there is any daycare that doesn't let you into ALL (ESP "employee only") areas when you visit, you should be very suspicious.
I asked my husband if he would bring any of our three large dogs here. He said "Not on my life!!!"
- Pros: none!!! avoid!!!
- Cons: dogs mistreated, dogs with giardia
