“Besides the comfortable design, I was treated pleasantly and respectfully.”
“First of all the hospitality is great, the people working there are very accomodating and helpful.”
“For its prices and lousy service, might as well go to Bumble.”
Visit the one in Brooklyn. When I moved to Park Slope I looked long and wide for both a sylist and colorist. After several botched tries I found Salon de Quartier on Smith Street. It took a try to find the right person, but the colorist (Yelena) is awesome (and I grew up going to the "best" in Manhattan), but am now a dedicated customer here in BK. Cindy does a great cut. Highly reccomend!
I recommend Salon de Quartier. I really like this place. Besides the comfortable design, I was treated pleasantly and respectfully. I came at an off hour, which made the place quiet and serene. I got a very good cut. I am definitely coming back.
Nothing more than a Glorified Barber.
I went to this place expecting a decent cut for the $90 I agreed to pay for it. Of course, my stylist (skinny brunette with Italian accent) had absolutely no idea of what she was doing. She made me wait for almost a half hour after my appointment before seeing me because she was busy eating pizza in the back of the salon. She then chopped at my beautiful long hair and left me with a very disturbing bowl-like hair do with a long mullet. Not what I had asked for and not what I had wanted. She was rushed, rude, and apparently has no idea of how to style women's hair. She cut layers into my hair all over the place and she couldn't have cared less when I explained that I was getting nervous with all of her rabid chopping and layering. Needless to say, I would never go back to this place.
In addition to lack of attention to detail and unfriendly (and incompetent) staff, the "salon" uses L'oreal products and is undergoing construction. Not a tranquil or enjoyable experience in the least.
The cappucino service is probably the only thing the salon has going for it. For its prices and lousy service, might as well go to Bumble.
Very good value for the money. I was bleeding money at a more upscale hair salon (spending $500 plus every ten weeks for a hair cut and highlights/ color) when my husband convinced me to try this salon, located within walking distance of our apartment. I think my hair looks even better than before - I can go more frequently to get it done. The staff, who do not always speak good English, are nonetheless very gracious and helpful. Everyone is generally very nice and I am happy with how my cut and highlights look.
Editorial Review. Stylists at this French-themed salon perform cuts, coloring and highlights, as well as deep mask treatments and manicures.
