Great Food, Great Experience. My firend and I went here for dinner and got the pre fix meal.. The food was great as well as the service!
fabulous. i recently went to this restaurant with some co-workers for lunch and had an amazing time. The staff was accomodating, the food was absolutely delicious and the place is lovely.and regarding the price its just $16.95 for a 3 course non veg prixfix lunch
WORST SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE EVER !!!!!!!!!!. I've never experienced worst service than this. I went with a party of twelve for dinner on a Friday night. First off, the orders had to be repeated to the waiter multiple times either because he had a hearing problem or he was new. Then when someone at my table asked for a recommendation, the waiter's answer was "it depends on what you like". Yeah, Duh! Thanks for nothing. And there's a golden rule in "Waiting Tables 101" -- DO NOT DROP THE MEAL ON THE CUSTOMER OR HIS/HER BELONGINGS!! The entire dish of entree went all over my Kate Spade bag and wallet... inside and out. I was livid as hell and besides a quick apology from the waiter, the staff and manager in the restaurant were indifferent to it all. They had the nerve to still charge me. I had to bring it to the manager's attention at the end of the meal and request that my portion of the bill be taken off. He was nonapologetic and acted like it was no big deal. I can't imagine such pricey restaurant having such poor service skills. You can't pay me enough to go back!
Best Indian Food In New York.
I read the reviews for a while and did not go to this restaurant however, either the reviewers were competitors or, they do not know Indian Food.
My experience at this restaurant was fabulous. The service staff attentive, serene, we could have a conversation and yes though it was a bit more than I am used to paying for Indian food, was well worth it.
Must go and find out.

Never Going back. A person here left this review which i definately agree with. I dont know y i decided to go here, one reason i think was City search another was just me being dumb. Iv tried all the restaurants on this street including Chola and Ada. With tough competetion... 4 indian restaurants on the same street i expected them to have good food or service or quality of presentation; i mean at least something. None of these restaurants would qualify for being there. I believe they should get a new Management, chef or something. There is something just lacing here. Dawat however had good service may be because it was empty and food was good too. The dessert there was delicious. Dawat is a one time place.. Every one should go there.
Good for corporate accounts and Bad for your own wallet.. Good ambience and friendly staff. The decor is good and the place is spacious. The seats by the windows are the best. The food was not the best Indian/fusion that I have ever had. The takeouts that I ordered before tasted a lot better than the food I had when I was there. Also, the portions are relatively small. All said, the food/ambience/staff/presentation just does not justify the price premium that they charge. You can have a great experience in any of the other Indian restaurants on the same street without having to shell out as much.
Train has some steam. Overall not bad...rap was that it went through an overhaul due to some difficulties...came back with a fresh paint...now it has good steam in the engine but needs a lot of coal to work it. Would be a even better experiance if it was lighter on the wallet.
Editorial Review. Upscale Indian restaurant serves organic dishes such as ginger mint lamb chops, fish curry, rice pudding and coconut cheesecake.
Excellent!!!. This is a top-notch Indian food restaurant. Me and my guests LOVED it!! The seafood and poultry was very fresh. And the staff are all so nice and give excellent recommendations. All should give this place a try, I'm sure you will be back many more times.
